Can anybody throw light on some recent blood test results that I got?
For background info, I've had consistent low levels of iron for the last 10 years, and my last ferritin test results were at 3. Decided to take Floradix for 2 months to see if it would work and felt a lot better so went to get my iron levels checked again.
When I got them back:
Ferritin levels had increased to 20
Iron levels were at 15 umol/L (said to be in the normal range)
But my TIBC was at 90 umol/L (said to be high as the normal range is between 41-77umol/L)
My transferrin saturation was 17% (normal range is 20-55% so is regarded as low)
If my iron and ferritin are within normal ranges, should I be concerned about the other 2? Not sure how it all comes together.
