I have three.

A string of tiny roses, linked together by a thorny black stem, this runs down the right hand side of my body, starting just beside my boob and stopping on my hip.

A Celtic spiral on my left shoulder.

And last but by no means least, I have a small but very detailed and brightly coloured butterfly, which sits "proudly" (ahem!) Just to the left of my clit Blush

Ridingthegravytrain · 17/01/2020 09:05

2, one on each eyebrow. Does that count?

Kelsoooo · 17/01/2020 09:05

I have a full side leg/bum, just because I liked the style and then decided to get it. It's amazing.

I have one between my shoulder blades, self design. Again, saw something I liked and adapted it for me.

Both my children's names, on my hip.

A stem with lyrics coming off. Which then wraps down over the girls names and into my groin.

A dragon on my hip.

A star on my stomach.

A blur on my ankle (which is kinda covered by the leg one now tbf)

A song bird on my forearm.

I have 17

2 unicorns on my shoulders (strength and wisdom)
3 coloured spiders with boots on my shoulder ( represent my children)
1 cherub sleeping on a cloud on my hip( for my angel baby)
1 ladybird on my chest (for my friend who stopped me self harming)
1 lotus flower on my lower back (to represent beauty from even the muddiest pond)
8 dragonflies trailing from my lower back, over my right shoulder and around my chest) to represent how things can go from bad beginnings to true beauty)
1 sunflower on foot (my angel baby, so he can walk every step with me)

I would like one more so it's an even number... maybe a little one for my Dad x

BeyondFlubeInclusionaryRF · 17/01/2020 09:09

7 - Foot (peacock), hip/side/thigh (phoenix), chest piece (ivy and a lace heart), shoulders/top of both arms (water lily and carnations), lower arm (cherry blossom and children's names), top of back/neck (sun and stars)

LaMarschallin · 17/01/2020 09:12

None here.
Always slightly scared of doing something irreversible to my appearance in case I grow to hate it.
And have heard horror stories from a dermatologist friend* (proper consultant one) about after effects of both tattoos and their removal.

Elder DC knew I wasn't keen on tattoos so waited until 18 before getting a pretty unobtrusive one. Fair enough.

Since has had it removed because: "I still liked it, but I don't think I could warn my children not to have tattoos if I still had one".

Huh? Yes, right - tattoo-less me suggested that I was worried about it to you, DC, but you still got it done?

...was what I didn't say.
But wanted to.

I watch for further developments (long way into the future yet).

Having said that, I'm interested in other people's tattoos and the reasons behind them.
I suspect they're rarely done without a lot of thought.

*Bastard! Lovely man but refuses to take up private work and give me free Botox.
Bloody ethical doctors.

A large thigh piece that covers hip to knee of a book to represent my love of reading, a cupcake to represent my love of baking and a teacup to represent my love of tea. The cake has "eat me" on a placard sticking out of it and the teacup has a ribbon saying "drink me" tied to the handle to represent my love for Alice in Wonderland. Currently working with a tattoo artist to add Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast and Matilda inspired designs to turn it into a full leg sleeve, as they are my 4 favourite stories

Standard basic infinity knot that says love on my inner arm.

A pattern I drew at 16 on the back of my neck, I treated myself to that for my 18th birthday.

The words "born to blossom, bloom to perish" on my ribs surrounded by daisy's, I relate to the quote and daisy's are my favourite flower.

StarlightLady · 17/01/2020 09:26

One small one on my shoulder. It is a bespoke design and personally very meaningful. The person who designed it was a woman very special to me.

SundaySalon · 17/01/2020 09:33

One on my foot that I regret, it’s not ridiculous or anything I just got it without much thought years ago.
@ClientListQueen is it the opening line? One of my fave episodes right next to ‘Lies my parents told me’

fussychica · 17/01/2020 09:35

None. Nearly got a bird on my shoulder in my 50s when I lived abroad but backed out at the last minute. No regrets.

sazzle27 · 17/01/2020 09:40

2, tribal style dragon designed by s friend for me on my hip, and a Phoenix on my ribs.. not specifically designed for me but drawn by an ex friend who really was a cnt. Currently saving to get that one lasered and thinking up a replacement...

Namechanged1010 · 17/01/2020 09:42

One. Is a small flower. Not visible as in an intimate place so only DH sees it!

Damntheman · 17/01/2020 09:50

I also have a tribal style dragon on my hip designed for me by a friend :D I got it when I was 19 so it's been a while..

I've been considering a second for a long time now. A Muad'dib from Dune in memory of my dad. My mum would be upset though and I always have other things to spend the money on so it's been procrastinated :)

Clawdy · 17/01/2020 09:52
  1. One on left shoulderblade, one on right upper arm. Both swallows, first one I liked but looked a bit cartoony, the second one is much prettier. I decided to go for it when I read that Judi Dench had one done for her seventieth birthday!
TheGriffle · 17/01/2020 10:07

I have my star sign on my wrist, a simplified Angel on the back of my neck, a quote from Rocky Horror or the top of my foot and 2 gerbera daisies on my forearm (elbow crease to wrist) with my dds dates of birth on.

I really want more but haven’t thought of a design or placement yet.

edwinbear · 17/01/2020 10:12
  1. Not a big fan at all, each to their own of course and I appreciate the skill and artwork, but not for me.
ClientListQueen · 17/01/2020 10:13

@SundaySalon without passion we'd be truly dead

MmeBufo · 17/01/2020 10:20

I have 30+ all easily covered by every day clothing. Most people don’t know I have any at all

Salene · 17/01/2020 10:24

3

One on each hip (flower and eye of horus) and one on my top of my bum
Cheek (butterfly)

Horrid and hate tattoos on women , totally regret getting any but too wimpy to get them removed

That said I do like them on men 🤷🏼‍♀️

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 17/01/2020 10:25

I have a couple, don't regret either, will get more. Am really liking some of the full sleeves I've seen on women lately too.

But hey ho, like some pp here, I'm off to look for threads about things I dislike or will never have so I can stop by and bore on about my superior opinions...

whiskeyandice · 17/01/2020 10:29

I have a full sleeve and full leg (would that be a trouser?) yes expensive and addictive.
Although a few smaller ones dotted around rib cage, foot, back, other arm, hip. I'm a sucker for punishment.

HaveFunStorminTheCastle · 17/01/2020 10:43

7, though 5 are on one arm and due to size make a fairly patchwork sleeve effect.

Left arm:

Ladybird (not cartoon, realism style, but a lot bigger than the real thing) on my outer wrist.
3 robots, based on toys I own, with a sort of spacey background behind then on lower inner arm.
Anchor with flowers on my forearm
Swallow with a flower in its beak on my inner upper arm.
Huge owl with some moth friends and roses on outside of upper arm.

Back:

Kitchen Aid mixer and cupcakes.

Right arm:

Ada Lovelace portrait in a frame with geraniums and pearls around it over my upper arm.

Hah, all the outing that little lot.

Lessstressedhemum · 17/01/2020 10:45

I have three dragonflies up my chest. Their bodies are the words faith, hope and love. They represent how strength In the face of difficulty and the ability to adapt to change and struggle. The words represent the things that bring me that strength.

EmmiJay · 17/01/2020 10:50

I have a large tribal cat down my back. Love when summer arrives so I can show it off (and if people don't know I have a tattoo - their faces of shock 🤣)

viccat · 17/01/2020 10:50

I have a fairly big one on my forearm and a small one on my lower back. Planning my third one for my wrist soon.
