Anyone know this book?

Very vague what I can remember 😬

Was (I think) a series of stories about two girls who were best friends.
The friend was prettier and more confident than the protagonist, who I think had a younger sister.
The only story I can remember is where the protagonist was given a Gucci handbag by either an aunt or sister which the friend managed to swindle from her by telling her it was old and tatty.
Would have been around 1990-ish, possibly written 10 years earlier.

Doors anyone recall it?

Was it My Best Fiend? I think there was a series?

I remember one with a giant burger made out of stotties!
