Nabotian cyst

Posting here for traffic, sorry.

Had smear Monday and practice nurse said she's seen a 'little blister' on the outside of my cervix. She then bloody googled it and said it was a 'nabothian cyst' and completely harmless.

I'm overthinking things massively. I had a D&C last year for a MMC and obviously TTC again and am currently having bloods etc done.

Has anyone had these cysts? My last smear was fine. I do bleed mid-cycle around the time I ovulated but had this checked out and all was fine.

I couldn't believe she googled it Sad

Ive no idea, but if it's any consolation the same thing happened to my DD5 in A and E. They literally googled how to treat her and do a specific procedure whilst I was stood about 3 metres away. FFS.

Title should be nabothian sorry.

Sorry to hear about your DD. Doesn't strike you with confidence does it Sad

Haven't you noticed your GP having a quick google now and then ? It's no different from grabbing a textbook off the shelf like in the olden days.

Please don't worry, nabothian cysts are totally harmless.
I see a few of these every years whilst taking smears.

Just think of it as double checking her knowledge. She thinks it's a nabothian cyst, but wanted to check she hadn't missed/confused anything.

Let's face it, she did t google little

picklemepopcorn · 16/01/2020 18:46

Oops

Didn't google 'little blister, what the hell is this?' Did she? So she knew, she was just checking the details.

nespressowoo · 16/01/2020 19:17

She initially googled 'cervical photography' then 'cervical blister' and then 'cervical cyst' which then came up with what she said it was.

Thanks @takemetomars that is reassuring.

I've never noticed my GP googling things before.

Yes it's normal. I was having an examination years ago and the nurse went and got the doc cos she said she could see something on my cervix and he confirmed it one of those completely harmless.

I had exactly the same thing a couple of months ago. I'd been spotting mid cycle and I had an internal exam and the doctor spotted what she thought was a nabothian cyst, she even googled and printed off some information about them. I had an a 2 week referral to the hospital and had to have an internal ultrasound and mine turned out to be a small polyp at the top of my cervix. Had the all clear though
