My daughter is 12 years old and she wants to stay at her friends this friday. Im ok with this but its her dads weekend and he is refusing to allow her to stay out as its his weekend. I understand but shes 12 and getting to the point where she wants to be with her friends more and because he is constantly saying no to her she wants me to contact a solicitor and let her decide wether she goes to his or not. What do i do?

@Whynosnowyet I just do. I just remember what it was like at that age and how kids just want to be like their mates and join in with what their mates are doing. Sleepovers are normal at that age and one of the parents time will always be affected by a sleepover / party / hobby. I just find it a bit sad she can join in with these things because its her dads time with her. But then I've always wanted my kids to just do things they way they would if me and their dad were still together. Everyone will do things their own way that works for them.
