Does anyone believe in reincarnation and if so have you or anyone you know have evidence of it?

What’s that got to do with travel advice.

Panicovereveryone · 16/01/2020 06:20

Yes, I was a very well off Italian in my past life.

My evidence is I love warm weather, hate being cold. I also love all Italian food, wine, coffee etc. I know I must have had staff because I'm always surprised nobody has done the washing up/housework etc and genuinely feel out that I need to go to work everyday to support myself.

I really should travel to Italy sometime.

earlycat · 16/01/2020 06:49

I used to think it was possible, but not now I'm older.

BadgerBadgerMushroom · 16/01/2020 06:52

@Lynette 😂

Panicovereveryone · 16/01/2020 06:56

@LynetteScavo that’s what I’m looking for in France Grin

willothewispa · 16/01/2020 07:00

Yes. God knows I must have been awful in my past life to get this one this time.

stellabelle · 16/01/2020 07:15

I want to come back as an impossibly slim, young French girl, who can look incredible in any garment.

MumApr18 · 16/01/2020 07:26

It's a load of rubbish. Think about it...imagine you are a powerful leader (of a religion, country, cult, anything) and are getting a bit sick of the underclass threatening to revolt, or are scared of them trying to better themselves incase they stop providing you with cheap labour, adoration etc. What do you do?

Tell them "it's ok! This life might be a bit shit BUT if you are REALLY good, and do exactly as I say, in the next life you will come back as someone/thing MUCH better" Hmm

It's just a way to get poor people to shut up and accept being poor in my opinion!

LouMumsnet · 17/01/2020 11:55

Hi there, @Pixxie7 - we're just bobbing on here to say that we're giving your thread a second life here on the Chat topic. Wink

Hope that helps.

Lailaha · 17/01/2020 12:05

willothewispa I hear you, sister Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/01/2020 13:58

I think what happens is that, as our energy and memories can never be destroyed. Upon death this energy and these memories ect have to go somewhere so could it be that they go into the mind of a developing feotus.
Has anyone watched Yesterday's children. Based on the true story of Jennie Cockerall I think her name is. She tracked down all of most of her children from her previous life.

Lailaha · 17/01/2020 20:07

I think those stories the gutter press occasionally run about children who talk about their lives before/how they died before etc pretty creepy, in all honesty.

There's no reincarnation in my religion, and I kind of hope there isn't irl as I'm looking forward to the rest... But seriously, I find it simultaneously deeply comforting and deeply unpleasant as a possibility.

bobstersmum · 17/01/2020 20:12

A few years ago driving past a garage a few towns away my ds who was almost 4 at the time declared mummy! I used to work there when I was old! I was a bit freaked at the time!

Lailaha · 18/01/2020 13:24

bobster that's just the kind of thing I find so freaky!

ImaginaryFriends · 18/01/2020 14:36

This always makes me laugh.

bluebells100 · 18/01/2020 14:49

Definitely 100% believe in it. I think we just keep coming back to learn life lessons. We’ve probably all had some shit lives in the past and some good ones too probably.

sebanna · 18/01/2020 15:32

My DS asked one night if I knew that he had drowned, when I said no, he told me he had become trapped under water and had died. I asked him what his name was when he had drowned and he said a name I had never heard of. I googled the name and learnt it was a rare French surname not used in the uk and very rare in the USA. A Google also showed an newspaper article of an hurricane in the USA in which a captain (with the same name had drowned.) We are British with no links with France.

Elieza · 18/01/2020 15:50

I totally believe in it. I think I was a soldier who was killed by a bayonet or spear to my guts. No idea when. Just a gut instinct, no pun intended.

Sometimes I see hear and smell things which aren’t there. It makes no sense but I’m not mad or mistaken so I can only assume there is a reason why. That’s why I have no doubt that there is more to our souls than this one shell. And that we live multiple lives in different shells until we understand things better. And become better people. I’ve defo been round a few times. Hope these last rounds are good ones!

Would love to do hypnosis to find out.

HermioneWeasley · 18/01/2020 15:56

If you can smell and hear things that aren’t there perhaps you should see a neurologist?

lightnesspixie · 18/01/2020 15:57

When my niece was three she was on a plane next to her mum and she turned to her and said I chose you. My sister said what? She said I chose you - before I was born I chose you as my mum.

Kalifa · 18/01/2020 16:14

Some people claim we don’t reincarnate in order to learn lessons but to just experience life in the physical realm. I believe that. Life has no point other than to just live it, experience it, the good and the bad. So in my opinion if you are looking for some deeper meaning to life you won’t find any. Just live it. That’s why I feel sorry for folks who are looking for the point of life when in reality it’s right there in front of them, they are deep in it because they are living it right at the moment. They don’t see the wood from the trees.
And what kind of lessons are we supposed to learn in each life? When we reincarnate we don’t remember a single thing from our previous lives so we know jackshit as newborns, and the whole thing starts again from zero. You can’t accumulate knowledge throughout a series of reincarnations, you always start from nothing again.
Several NDE-ers also claim there’s no karma, in a way that if you were a bad person in your previous life you won’t necessarily have a harsh life in the next.

Elieza · 18/01/2020 16:21

@HermioneWeasley I’ve actually seen one and had an mri. Nothing found. It doesn’t happen all the time but when it does it’s usually accompanied by something else or something else happens that makes me think it’s not if this world. Can be a bit weird.

Anyhoo no point in trying to explain. There is no explanation! Except a paranormal one.

Elieza · 18/01/2020 16:23

@Kalifa we think we know jack shit when we are born but what’s to say we have been born as a more empathetic person than we were on the last life. Or one who is more determined than that if the last life. Etc etc. I think the multiple lives makes sense. To me anyway!
