Buying your first house

How do you decide when to buy your first house?

I am single and childless. I have an OK earning job, about 26k a year.

I have rented my current house for 3 years but altogether have been renting for about 7 years. I don't think I will want to live in this area forever but I am also very conscious of the fact that renting is money down the drain and for a few years now I've been thinking about whether I should buy.

Any first time buying advice/suggestions welcome. Thank u x

Do an affordability check online with a lender and see what theyd lend you- save a deposit up and then speak to a broker to help you through the process :)
Then move in!

Definitley buy rather than rent - we rented for a few years and I still regret all the money that could have been paying off my mortgage!
