Anyone been to any of his restaurants? Was thinking of booking there for our 1st wedding anniversary as we love his shows/recipes, any experiences? Is it worth the money? And which restaurant would you recommend? We both love things like steak/red meat if that helps!

We've been to the hand and flowers twice. It's gorgeous. Just beautiful food, a thoughtful wine list, and attentive but not intrusive staff. The restaurant is dark and quiet. Chips are amazing. Not somewhere for great slabs of meat but I've loved both trips.

Been to the H&F four times now and it never disappoints. It's our treat meal out. Not cheap, but not stupidly expensive and I've never eaten a nicer steak and chips anywhere. The duck parfait starter is bloody gorgeous. Good service too. Tables are only for two hours so if you don't want to have your coffee after in the bar get a later table (we normally go for 8:30/9 as they aren't seating anyone at 10:30/11 but they don't close for a while after that so you don't get moved on).

We've booked for his new place in Manchester in Feb. Really looking forward to it.

I tried to book Hand and Flowers a couple of years ago and was agog at the length of time in advance you had to book - they were booking for dates 18 months later. Has this changed a bit?

Yes @BrowncoatWaffles they only book 3 months in advance now.

The Hand and Flowers is wonderful and the fixed price lunch is exceptionally good value.

Looks like the Hand and Flowers it is! And I didn't realise he was opening a new place, that's good. @BrowncoatWaffles I think you can only book 6 months in advance, so we've got to wait a month until we can book for the end of August. Does anyone know how often the menu changes?
