Toddler gets red blotches when tired?

I've noticed that DS seems to get red blotches in the same areas on his face when he's very tired and/or going down with a cold. Has anyone else seen this or know why it might happen? They don't seem to be itchy and don't look sore or scaly or anything worrying.

I've no idea why it happens, but my son used to. He's now 6 and has outgrown it.

It's just something that tinies do. DD and later DGS got them, and it was a signal to cuddle them off to sleep.

Maybe keep an eye on it but I think it's probably fine, my xh used to get red patches under his eyes when he was very tired, and dsis used to go very slightly orange, true!
