Temporary crown

What is a temporary crown supposed to look like. It's a for a broken tooth that was filled last year.

I got the first of two crown appointments done this morning.

The dentist said there is a temporary crown in place.

I was eating something soft on the other side of my mouth. The bite is slightly off.
It's feels slightly weird at times but not majorly uncomfortable. Just something to get used to.

I looked in the mirror, and the surface area of half of the tooth looks rough and uneven. I don't care about looks but I don't know if the crown popped or fell off.

The surface area is rough. It looks like a filling. I did phone the dentist and the nurse said the dentist put a filling behind the crown.

So is it supposed to look like this. There's no pain.

A temporary crown could look like a lot of things.

It could be rough, it could not be. It's impossible to say tbh as it dependa what type they used but it could look like a filling

A tooth prepped for a crown will be smaller than a tooth, and it won't be in your bite. I would go by what a tooth missing a temporary crown looks like

My temporary crown is just past gum line as tooth is broken so low. It is rough, my understanding is that it just protects the part of the tooth the crown will fix to
