Pillow mist help.

Hi.

I have slight issues with relaxing enough to drift off to sleep. In the past I used a Virgin Vie (long time ago) pillow mist. Since then I used one from the Body Shop. It's now only available in Australia , and I was gutted.

I need something that doesn't have lavender in it, which is what makes it more difficult.

I'd be really grateful if anyone can suggest anything.

Thank you so much.

Tisserand and Neals Yard both do some nice ones - have a look at Holland & Barrett for ideas too (there are some lovely teas that H&B do these days, and Pukka Herbs have a nice selection too). You could also make your own spray. Boil some water, let it cool, stick it in a little spray bottle, and add a few drops of essential oils (not too many). I can see lavender isn't an option, so depending on what you do like, you could try:

  • camomile
  • jasmine blend or rose blend (unless you're lucky enough to be able to afford the pure ones!)
  • sweet marjoram
  • clary sage
  • vanilla
  • ylang ylang (often called "poor man's jasmine" as it has the same effects but is not as expensive)

If you really want to knock yourself out you could also try Valerian but this is a very, very strong oil so use with care (the tea or tablets might be a better choice; it also has a smell that takes a bit of getting used to); also vetiver and catnip (yes you can get catnip as an oil), but again, use sparingly and with caution!

Cowshed doesn’t appear to have lavender
