I think it's a joke he hasn't been nominated...
Rami Malik wasn't even singing apparently when he won.. Taron's singing voice is fabulous...

Surely the clue is in the title - best actor not best singer

To be fair, I do think rami knocked it out the park. I'm not sure taron did, but that was possibly as thr film was a bit shit and he did his best with what he had to work with.

But he acted very well too...

And actually I heard taron sing live at the Hugh jackman concert in London and I don't think anyone inc him would say his voice is fabulous.

Totally agree OP. Even leaving the singing out of it, he put in a brilliant performance and deserved a nomination.

The film was anything but shit, it was one of the best of last year. I can only assume the fact that it's a musical didn't do it any favours with The Academy.

Love him in general actually.. Even though I'm old enough to be his Mum!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Ah well, he'll always have his golden globe I suppose.
I liked Rocketman and thought he deserved a nomination but then which of Antonio, Leonardo, Adam, Joaquin or Jonathan do you get rid of instead?

There are always snubs as well. I still cannot believe Lupita Nyong'o has been missed out for Us (apart from Critic's Choice). It came out last March but she was so amazing in it that I am shocked her performance seems to have been forgotten entirely.
