Growing up it was classed as a proper dinner now we joke and say it was cause my mum was a council mum 😂 she lived off benefits and if we didn't have much this was our dinner a few nights of the week.. No offence meant towards anyone I just remember it being called this 😂

Have to say, I just assumed you were pissed.
It's nice to see someone so easily amused though.

And well done you for not being skint.

Umm...

Ahahahahahaha. Weeping with laughter face etc
Just so I fit in.

No I'm not pissed, wish I was though 😂 (oops!)

Not skint but not rich either got enough food to last the month and I can manage travel to work until pay day so all is financially okay-ish

@LaMarschallin what's with all the haha's and wheepy faces in your comment? 😝

It just seemed to be obligatory punctuation.

What's with all the hahas and weepy faces in yours?

I often click on food threads (I love to cook and I love to eat) but I've never seen anyone moved to such leg-wetting hilarity by soss, beans, chips and a buttered slice as you.

I was intrigued and thought I'd try it out.

(Seriously, you're not pissed? Gosh)

Oh dingdang that sounds nice, I buy loads of tinned potatoes as they can be added to stews, stovies, burry and all sorts to bulk them up

Our ‘slum it’ was plain long grain rice with grated cheese and packet ham folded in or fusilli with Dolmio chunky veg sauce and grated cheese.

We used to eat mayo on toast with salt and vinegar after the pub as students... I don't think I could go there these days 🤣
