What to put on Abbys feet

My LO is 12 months, cruising and crawling, happy to play outdoors and be on swing and slide etcetera. What do you put on baby’s feet? Not walking yet so I was told no proper shoes but definitely needs more than socks in this weather. We have some loose rubberised things that tie over the feet but they are quite loose and tend to get stuck. Are there other sorts of foot coverings? Or should we just do shoes? Or the leather bottom boottees /moccasins?

Ta Xx

It's a long time ago for me but Clarks used to do a range of soft shoes for crawlers and cruisers.

Have a look at happylittlesoles.co.uk you might find something there.

Bobux shoes are lovely too

Mumttymummy2020 · 12/01/2020 18:50

Thank you, so it sounds a soft soled leather bottom shoe is appropriate? Not anything with a rubberised sole, like the clarks prewalkers?

Can you still.get those Clarke's doodle things ,they were like a soft shoe?

Jamhandprints · 12/01/2020 19:00

Warm socks should be fine. 2 pairs if you live in a really cold home.

Mumttymummy2020 · 12/01/2020 19:16

Thank you, yes we are happy with socks in the home but what about outside where it’s much more cold and wet? Have got a puddle suit but one pair of socks doesn’t seem enough 🤷🏼‍♀️

We're using a pair of Pedipeds for that purpose - although DD has cracked walking so it's shoes before long.

Soft leather bootees. When my DC were little there was a brand called Daisy Roots? Super cute.

If you're LO is cruising then Bobux do a range of shoes specifically for this stage called 'Xplorers' - check them out. They're super lightweight and flexible so are perfect for outdoors as they still feel like soft soles but the soles are a bit more robust for the outdoors. Both my boys wore them before they were properly walking but were walking round furniture and walking in the playground while holding our hands.
