Child arrangements

Me and my ex are currently going through child arrangements via family court (long history of dv and me living in a refuge) he is denying everything it hasnt gone that far yet. He has PR of one of my kids but not the other. I have a third child with a new partner. Basically i want to move to ireland partly because he is a violent drug addict and i dont want him anywhere near me or my children and partly because i want to give them a better life and generally want to live there. Hes not seen them for 8 months and hasnt paid maintenance since we split in 2016. What would actually happen if i just left? Would i get arrested? Ive read that its child abduction but haven't found many cases where mum is brought back to the uk? Please help

Technically you need the permission of everybody with PR to take a child abroad, although this often isn't checked for on leaving.

If your ex isn't afraid of litigation, and it certainly sounds like it if he's started proceedings for child arrangements, then taking the child abroad to a country that follows the Hague convention on child abduction, would be a very very bad idea.

You need to ask your solicitor.
