What's everyone up to today?

I've just made myself a coffee to drink in peace, both girls still in bed for now after a fairly late one last night. I'll get them up in half an hour or so when I've drunk this.

We were going to go for a walk down the river this morning but my right welly has a hole in it's sole & it's tipping it down. So we'll probably watch a film together instead.

I've got two loads of washing to be done, school shirts to iron and reading with dd2. We'll bake buns for packed lunches too. I bought a new, blue, gel colour I want to try out before I bake dd1's birthday cake so they'll be blue Grin.

I want to re-write this term's Rainbow and Guide plans too - atm they're just scribbles I can read but everyone else needs to read them too!

Shepherd's pie & a pile of veg for tea, followed by giant cookie and Bailey's cream (maybe).

What about you lot?

Squirrel26 wish I was going riding this pm Envy

Honeybee85 · 12/01/2020 14:05

It’s nearly bed time here.
Stayed at home with DS and DH until 3 in the afternoon, then went out to buy some new clothes for DS as January sales have started here and bought lovely things for him at Zara and GAP with discounts as far as 80% Grin. Then had noodles for dinner and went home.

Woke up around 0830, made coffee, gave people painkillers (we're all more or less f*cked ATM, so everything from Calpol to morphine), made a fry up, bathed DGS because that's how we spoil him, chased him with a nappy for 30 minutes, shoved a bucket of porridge into him. Now we're considering recipes for dinner.

mywrencalls · 12/01/2020 14:15

Just painted the landing upstairs, doing some washing. About to have a tuna salad. Dogs happy, DP happy, chilled out day.

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and starting university tomorrow so excited and nervous!

iamabox · 12/01/2020 14:22

Cleaned the kitchen, and did the washing. Been shopping for new school shoes for DS, had lunch out for a change ( I usually make a chicken dinner every Sunday). Back home now. Played DS new game (hopping about on lily pads being chased by a crocodile thing!) Ds is on his tablet and me and DH are watching TV. Lazy day.

Took DD2 to a birthday party at soft play, tidied up and washed up and had lunch, now to do DD1's homework which is make cakes and write out the recipe. Apparently, this is DT and English homework, but I am not convinced about the English because she will be literally copying from a website. Then will have to probably wash up and tidy up again before making dinner. Also, listen to DD2 read, sort everything out for school tomorrow.

myfuckingfreezer · 12/01/2020 14:46

Nice cosy lay in with my book, then breakfast over a jigsaw puzzle before tackling all manner of household cleaning.

Now sitting down to Caribbean stew for lunch with the telly on.

Need to do some life admin and a job application for a role at Accenture Confused wish me luck!

Squirrel26 · 12/01/2020 14:50

@Strategicchoring , I love it, but it is FREEZING out there today!

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2020 14:51

Currently on the Dartford Crossing in the sunshine, heading home after dropping DD1 back at UEA (Norwich) for the new term. Collecting DD2 on the way (she's been to a vintage kilo sale). No idea where DS is. Looking forward to slumping on the sofa with the papers once I've got home, unpacked and put a wash on.

Bezalelle · 12/01/2020 15:06

DH and I just took my parents out for lunch in town. We got married last weekend, so we had a nice debrief and gave them the pressies we got them from our honeymoon.

DH has gone to see his mum now but I've ducked out as I'm knackered (6 weeks pregnant!). I was supposed to spend the afternoon catching up with work, but I'm actually MNing and watching vlogs on YouTube!

Strategicchoring · 12/01/2020 15:36

Squirrel26 I found a thin , warm balaclava type type thing in a continental riding shop that helps keeps my ears warm under a riding hat! And good socks and gloves always help. You'll love it once you get a good trot going! Grin.

lorettalemon · 12/01/2020 15:46

I'm lying in bed feeling very tired with shingles (thank you so much to MNetters for pointing me in the right direction so I ended up getting the medication yesterday) I'm hoping to get the energy up to move to the living room and watch tv in a bit!

iklboo · 12/01/2020 15:54

Been to Asda, now have a joint of beef in slow cooker. Just need to put roast potatoes and veg on later.

Popfan · 12/01/2020 16:08

Lie in this morning then DS had tennis lesson at 10. When he got back it was homework and I did some work too. Lunch and then we both did some golf practise. DH went out to fiddle with his new air rifle. Now DS on playstation, DH in the bath, I'm having a coffee. Later it will be dinner, Dr Who, Call the Midwife and generally chilling out.

vodkaredbullgirl · 12/01/2020 16:11

Relaxing before I go to work tonight.

CoodleMoodle · 12/01/2020 16:22

Kids (5 & 18mo) were awful this morning whilst DH had his peaceful, uninterrupted shower, but they got better. Watched Lego Movie 2 with DD and DH whilst DS had a nap. Now I'm supervising DS in the bath and DH is playing Lego Movie on the PS4 with DD (she might be obsessed). She's having a bath next, and DH will make pasta bake for tea.

Did a load of washing which the kids put in the tumble dryer for me (DS' great joy!), and after dinner it's my turn for a bath. Peacefully and uninterrupted, I hope!

Squirrel26 · 12/01/2020 18:35

Ooh yes, @Strategicchoring I need something like that! I’ve seen thin merino hats made for cyclists to wear under their helmets. Maybe that would work.

We did some jumping, which warmed me up nicely. Grin

Strategicchoring · 12/01/2020 19:48

Sounds great Squirrel! Still dead jealous here! Grin
