Bumping for you as I'm looking at getting one in a few years for the box room.

I've seen them very reasonably priced on Facebook marketplace

We had a one. DC lasted about six months and then preferred a mattress on the floor. Eventually got rid of the bed but kept the desk and wardrobe (which can be used stand-alone with a bit of imagination and a few spare parts). I don't know how high our ceiling was but that was certainly an issue - making the bed was a complete nightmare. It's also tricky if they get up in the night or get sick as you can't reach them. Having said that, I know a couple of other people that have got on very well with them.

We've got one. DS loves it!

It was a total ball ache to build though!

You may not be able to stand it up. The height clearance is so you can stand it up once you've built it. I really wouldn't chance it!
