I have recently enjoyed The Fall (really recommend that, if anyone else hasn’t seen it), The Dublin Murders, Homecoming

Any other suggestions?

Grace and Frankie?

roiseandjim · 10/01/2020 20:55

Oh yeah and good girls- all seasons are on Netflix

Bluntness100 · 10/01/2020 20:57

The messiah, I've just finished watching it, it's definitely very watchable and worth it,

Kyvia · 10/01/2020 20:57

Big Little Lies is a brilliant series (it’s Reece Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shalene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz & Laura Dern) I think you can pay for it on Amazon, or get Now TV for a week to watch it.

+1 The Good Place & OITNB

Another Life on Netflix is good, Katy Sackhoff.

HardAsSnails · 10/01/2020 20:57

Orphan Black - utterly bonkers story but Tatiana Maslany's acting is incredible.

Killing Eve is a good romp

Kyvia · 10/01/2020 20:58

Oh Grace & Frankie is brilliant!

MarshaBradyo · 10/01/2020 20:59

Unbelievable

Kyvia · 10/01/2020 20:59

Oh and Orphan Black too, I recently re-watched it and it holds up really well

CatintheFireplace · 10/01/2020 21:01

The Expanse (sci fi) is really good - lots of strong, interesting female characters.

The Boys, somewhat paradoxically, is very interesting from a feminist perspective.

Yy to the Killing, and also The Bridge (I've only seen the originals, not sure about the English remakes)

CatintheFireplace · 10/01/2020 21:01

Oh yes, and No Offence, Killing Eve and Fleabag of course.

PhilippaFawcett · 10/01/2020 21:02

Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on Netflix

CatintheFireplace · 10/01/2020 21:02

Oh, and The Americans.

CatintheFireplace · 10/01/2020 21:05

(NB the first episode of Americans seems very "American" and definitely not feminist, but if you make it past that it gets really really good).

I'll shut up now.

Another vote for The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on prime. I've loved it and everything else I've really loved is also listed by people above.

Also Good Girls on Netflix

sycamore54321 · 10/01/2020 21:05

I echo all of those saying Unbelievable.

I’d also recommend the BBC series Unforgotten if you like crime drama; it’s on Netflix. The same lead actress is in another great series called I think The Split which I also loved.

There’s also quite a few of the Jane Austen adaptations on those services, for a different kind of strong woman.

sycamore54321 · 10/01/2020 21:07

And did anybody mention Homeland? Variable in quality across the various series but (almost) always watchable.

Mandarinfish · 10/01/2020 21:10

Spiral (if you don't mind subtitles) - two amazing female leads.

HardAsSnails · 10/01/2020 21:24

The Bletchley Circle
And yes to Homeland

JoeGargery · 10/01/2020 21:31

YY to OITNB and The Americans - brilliant in very different ways

BarbaraofSeville · 10/01/2020 21:33

Locked Up, Spanish OITNB. On All 4.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 10/01/2020 21:39

The Mentalist. Teresa Lisbon takes no shit.
