What to do in London with 7/8 year old?

Does anyone have any advice on things to do on London with a 7/8 year old . (In winter)

The Science Gallery at London Bridge (next to the Shard) is child friendly and normally interactive.

Yes mary the tube is fab and even better if you have reason to use the DLR and can get to the front so you can 'drive' it!

My DS was bitterly disappointed with the underground because he couldn't see "the worms and things" out of the window Grin

The zoo is particularly quiet at this time of year, we went last week and there was a handful of people there in the morning. Made for a really enjoyable trip as you were actually able to see things!!

Southbank walk, past globe, stalls up to tate modern, quick look in tate modern, over Bridge to St Paul's then the musuem of London is one of my favourite jaunts with the dc.
