Always invited tobbe an evening guest

I have recieved another wedding evening reception invitation. I'm never excited for these as it usually means a large expense, travel, organising childcare and we are overlooked as not being priority guests etc These invitations are often not for small intimate weddings but larger ones.
What's worse is that often I'm sent a save the date before the invitation which puts pressure on me to accept or find it more challenging to think of an excuse as I have had plenty of notice.

What's your thoughts on this

As an evening only guest I think you are more able to accept or decide as you wish and no offence would be taken.

I think it’s quite rude to send a save the date card and then only issue an invite to the evening do. Don’t see the point in save the date cards though, just issue an invite and save the resources.

I dislike evening do’s and rarely attend. I always feel like they are just to bulk up the presents. The most important part of a wedding is the vows, not the party, yet so many are excluded from those.
