DP, amongst other things, bought my first ever 'posh' Christmas present from him this year as he started a new job in the summer - a watch.

Now, I have been silent about the number of scratches and marks on the face, assuming he bought a Amazon outlet one. Been wearing it every day, as it's a very nice watch, even if I can't see the time at a glance.

I've just realised that it had an extremely firmly stuck plastic disc over the face. The bloody thing is in perfect condition.

Awh, that is a lovely, funny story OP, with the happy ending, that the watch is still perfect! Grin

Once worked in a mobile phone shop. Regularly had customers come back in a rage that we had sold them a phone with marks on the screen. The went very quiet when I peeled the film off the screen.

Zaphodsotherhead · 10/01/2020 14:59

I did that very thing with the mobile screen! Kept thinking that it was getting very marked and how was I supposed to be able to see the screen...

..until one day a corner peeled off, and I realised.

I wish we had a numpty emoticon.

I did a whole week of skiing in new ski goggles without realising I still had the plastic cover on still (was wondering why it was a bit dark!). Easily done Wink

This reminds me of the time, many years ago, when my parents bought a new TV
The screen was very blurry and we all complained about it and so my Mom rang for an engineer to come and take a look
He duly arrived, twiddled about a bit and then asked if she had a damp cloth
He then proceeded to wipe the smears off the screen.
It was perfect after that!!!!!!!!!!
