Nurse CV advice please

I’ve recently returned to work following a break due to family circumstances. My DD has learning difficulties and I’ve been her carer for a number of years so it is easy to explain / justify the break.

3 years ago DD2 had cancer, and I had a breakdown, but was well enough last year to

complete a course which enabled me to go back to nursing.

I started a new ward based job and was fine initially but within a couple of weeks had problems with anxiety - I was struggling being back in the hospital and there were too many triggers following DD’s admission. Ward manager was supportive, but I decided after only a few weeks that it wasn’t the right place for me and resigned. I tried to stay in the Trust but no other band 5 vacancies were available on a part time basis.

I’m now looking at applying for jobs that are still nursing based, but not NHS / hospital.

Should I include the ward job on my CV and offer explanation at interview if I get that far?

Thanks.

This depends on how long you were there as to whether you include it.

You may have already but you still need some counciling and ways to manage your anxiety.

Yes, that’s all sorted. I thought previous counselling had resolved the problem, as soon as it became apparent that I still hadn’t dealt with DD’s diagnosis / admission I sought help and support. That’s one of the reasons I left - I couldn’t deal with the anxiety and returning to practice, only one thing at a time.

You were only working on the ward for a few weeks, it's reasonable to leave it off your CV. I'm glad you've organised support for yourself, good luck with everything
