I want a can of Tab & I'm humming 'Don't go breaking my heart' & 'Put my Blue Jeans on'. I'm wearing headscarves & Laura Ashley.

DrivingMsCrazy · 10/01/2020 10:58

Highland toffee bar and Pacers for me please OP. You'll beat me to the shop as I'm on my stilts (2 bits of spare old wood with foot rests made by my Dad).

BercowsFlamingoFlownSouth · 10/01/2020 10:58

I've just been born and can only wear a nappy as it's too hot.

SaskiaRembrandt · 10/01/2020 11:02

I'd like to come with you but I've got to listen to my mother complain that they can water the golf course, but she has to use bathwater on the vegetable patch.

averylongtimeago · 10/01/2020 11:13

I'm 17 and on a camping holiday with my boyfriend. It's really hot and the campsite loos only have the water on for an hour a day.

He has a cool Vauxhall Viva and long hair, I think we both look great in our Wrangler flared jeans and cheesecloth tops.

PS we told our parents we were sleeping separate tents Grin

SirVixofVixHall · 10/01/2020 11:18

We had a Vauxhall Viva then too. Smile

SirVixofVixHall · 10/01/2020 11:19

Oh and Funny Feet were definitely seventies.

OnTheEdgeOfTheNight · 10/01/2020 11:30

I'd like a quarter of cola cubes or a sherbet fountain. Or maybe some flying saucers. I love sugar.
I was recently held down in the dentist and had some teeth out. I remember the black gas mask coming toward my face. It really stank.
I think I might get pineapple cubes or strawberry bonbons. This is hard!

Wombatstew · 10/01/2020 11:44

I am on my way to the corner shop to get some rosy apples, cola cubes and a packet of Love Is stickers.

BarkandCheese · 10/01/2020 11:48

Add to my order, the grown ups would like choc ices, a packet of Silk Cut mild and a packet of John Player Special.

TheVanguardSix · 10/01/2020 11:54

I'm in California and I'm 4 years old. My brother has just taught me how to ride his Huffy bike and with my scrapes to prove this, I'm now off to cycle over to my neighbour and ask her for a can of chocolate soda from her garage fridge. I hate chocolate soda, but to my 4-year-old self, it's moonshine. I might stir up a glass of Tang later after my run on the slip n slide.

jackstini · 10/01/2020 12:04

I am 4 and in the baby bath with my best friend Sarah from over the back fence and dsis, 2

We can't go on our slide or climbing frame as they're metal and too hot to touch

Would love some mintolas if they don't melt on the way back...

drspouse · 10/01/2020 12:08

My parents have run a hose out of the bath to water the garden.
I'm begging for an ice lolly from the shops but I'm having Bejam vanilla on an Askeys cone at home instead. My mum goes on about how the ice cream has pig fat in it but buys it anyway. And I'm lying on the wooden garden slide (the splinters!) reading the three books I got from the library this morning which I will swap this afternoon.

Unusualsuspicion · 10/01/2020 12:08

My mum is heavily pregnant with me and, presumably, cursing the heat, and my kicking, and having to lug water from a standpipe if she wants a wash! Can't have been a fun summer to be pregnant.

AngusThermopyle · 10/01/2020 12:08

To get my dad 1/2 oz of Golden virginia baccy and myself a red Jublee. Age 9

bluejayblue · 10/01/2020 12:11

I'm on the tube on the way home from work, it's really hot and smells of sweat. I'm excited because my fiance is phoning tonight, we have to decide on which venue for our wedding. He is going to apply for married quarters tomorrow (he's in the RAF, and soooo. handsome in his uniform) and so needs details from me for the security clearance form.

Defenestratethecat · 10/01/2020 12:13

Can you get me a quarter of soor plooms please. I've just met the person who will be my BFF for over 40 years (and still is). We're sitting on the garage roof reading (alternating between Enid Blyton and Jackie Grin, eating Quavers and spangles and drinking orange squash. Later we'll help DDad water the tomatoes in the greenhouse, pick a lettuce for tea, complete with caterpillars and Mum will make a bacon and egg pie - none of your fancy quiches for us - to be eaten with home grown salad and Heinz salad cream.

katewhinesalot · 10/01/2020 12:15

Make sure you use the green cross code when crossing the road.

Remember this when getting your ice creams from the van?

letmepeeinpeace · 10/01/2020 12:20

This thread is making me feel sad! I miss my youth

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/01/2020 12:25

I'm in the departure lounge at Heathrow, about to jet off to a new life far, far away.

I'm wearing my cotton madras check maxi skirt (lime green and orange) with lime green cheescloth top.

I'm sipping Campari and orange and smoking a JPS special.

Mischance · 10/01/2020 12:26

I am at the beach but can't get as far as the sea because there is a 12 foot bank of dead ladybirds to breach before you can get there.

I am pregnant and am sitting watching wimbledon naked as the heat is so bad.

I have a new baby and the health visitor keeps grinding on about the baby dehydrating - go away woman - I am married to a doctor and he is simply not going to let that happen!

Ouch! - just been bitten by a ladybird!

katewhinesalot · 10/01/2020 12:39

It's my sisters 8th birthday party and we are holding it in the garden. I'm 10 and I've been allowed to invite a friend too. We've got bobbing apples and a board with little brown envelopes pinned to it, containing coins of different values that we can keep if we manage to spear one with a dart when it's our turn.

I think the coal bunker has recently been removed from the garden so there is more room now. The neighbours are sunbathing and watching through the wire, waist high fence.

Pebble21uk · 10/01/2020 12:46

I'm 6 and have invented myself a new pastime of getting all the moss out from between the garden crazy paving with a kitchen knife!! It's very satisfying. I'll only break-off for a glass of squash on the 60s sunlounger!

Trumpton · 10/01/2020 12:51

I have been married a year and just bought our first house . We paid £9,750 for it .
I drive a mk 1 frog eyed sprite . DH drives a mg midget .
I am going to do something stupid very soon and try and stop my car rolling into a wall by jumping in front of it . I spend the rest of the summer in a full leg cast !

angemorange · 10/01/2020 12:53

It's really hot and I'm 4 - we have a huge paddling pool in the garden - I'm the most popular in the street for about a week!
Would love a cider lolly too please or a SupaDuper lolly (had lots of hundreds and thousands over it!)
