I'm up because I'm feeling anxious and I slept until 1pm yesterday so I'm not tired yet.Sad Have to get up at 8 so that should be fun!

Insomniac here, 2nd night in a row of no sleep, head won’t switch off

GoldPaperStars · 10/01/2020 04:24

Zooeymama123 Sending Un mumsnety hugs.

I have a three week old who won’t stop working himself up overnight. Is hell.

Selfsettling3 · 10/01/2020 04:26

Just feed the baby. Now I need a wee but if I leave her she will scream and possibly wake up the 3 year old

MissCharleyP · 10/01/2020 04:30

Horrific period pain since 2 am. My alarm is about to go off for work now. Took 2 Feminax last night and another one when the pain woke me up again. Doesn’t seem to have touched it ☹️.

SaintEyning · 10/01/2020 04:45

The cat just knocked DS’ telescope off his desk with an almighty thud which scared the life out of me but at least it woke me up from the horrible nightmare I was having.

minesagin37 · 10/01/2020 04:46

I have flu. So does my DD so I'm listening out for her. Woke up coughing violently so drinking a camomile tea and just taken paracetamol.

arixo · 10/01/2020 04:48

Wide awake here 🙋🏼‍♀️ my sleeping pattern is completely messed up

Aebj · 10/01/2020 04:49

@Zooeymama123 hugs to you.

I’m up as it’s nearly 1pm in Perth . I’ve even got the day off which is a bonus and I’m going to the movies soon

arixo · 10/01/2020 04:52

MissCharley have you tried cocodamol? It helps with my bad period pains but can make you feel sleepy

Bulbousbob · 10/01/2020 04:52

I generally don’t sleep. I’ve had at least four hours. I’m grateful for that. I have a funeral to go to. Not looking forward to that. Have a headache but can’t be arsed moving to get tablets. I also can’t stop thinking about wildlife in Australia. Images in my head of those poor animals affected by the fires.

Pipandmum · 10/01/2020 04:53

I'm still slightly jet lagged and went to bed at 10pm last night rather than usual midnight. Woke up to visit toilet and can't get back to sleep!

MissCharleyP · 10/01/2020 04:54

arixo That’s what I usually have but I read that anti-inflammatories are supposed to be better. I’ll go back to the co-codamol after this I think. Doing my make up ready for work then I think I’ll make a hot water bottle for the journey there!

LucaFritz · 10/01/2020 04:54

Im 37 weeks pregnant and my sleep routine is all over the place because i can't get comfy to sleep half the time Brew

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 10/01/2020 05:03

DH and the dog snoring in stereo either side of me! DH hasn't been sleeping well, so I'm sort of pleased he is, but he sounds like a warthog with a puncture.

Planning tomorrow in my head, which will be long and complicated enough without having been up since 4.30.

Ooh, he's turned over! Blessed almost-peace. I'm going to give sleep another go.

lisag1969 · 10/01/2020 05:05

Went to bed early (fibromyalgia fatigue)
Woke up for the toilet and thought I'd have a read of MN as usually do this before bed, missed it. X

Travelledtheworld · 10/01/2020 05:12

Hi everyone !
I am a chronic Insomniac. Awake 3-5am every effing night.
Think I will go have a cup of decaf tea.

Kez200 · 10/01/2020 05:18

Im very stressed at work due to deadlines and complications. When it gets like this I end up in a spiral of not liking myself/thinking Im not worthy/lack of confidence. All of these seem routed in me being a perfectionist type personality. I find though I have started to understand better I still find sleeping hard at times like this. Head just whizzes.

elaine26 · 10/01/2020 05:20

Diarrhoea and more sickness, poor kid hasn't had it easy tonight

NotYourHun · 10/01/2020 05:28

Toddler woke up at 5.10. Have sent DHto try to settle him. Am on standby by for getting milk or accepting that my day has started. Am hoping he gives up and goes back to sleep. Fingers crossed.

LlamaPjama · 10/01/2020 06:04

@elaine26 I hope you guys are ok - it's horrible when kids are ill Brew

CrowleysBentley · 10/01/2020 06:44

I'm at the tail end of a crappy flu like virus, so my sleep has been rubbish for a while, I've spent the last few days just crashing out whenever I can manage to. I haven't even been up to taking the Christmas tree down yet and it's pissing me off. My sinuses have been really painful all night too. I really hope its not another sinus infection. I'm quite grumpy this morning too.
