Hi all,

What are you planning to do to and/ or purchase for your house this year?

We need to renovate our downstairs bathroom

I'd also like to replace all of the wood panels in the garden

Oh and buy a big bookcase

God, no. Please, no more. DH thinks we’re getting the bathroom done... I cannot cope after the saga that was the kitchen!

@howmanysleepsnow oh dear, what happened?

When you say wood panels @june705 do you mean the fence? Or am I missing out on something? I have proper fomo now (amateur gardener here)

Planning to tile the kitchen, employ a cleaning company to come in and blitz the whole house and then put it on the market so we can buy a bigger house as we started to outgrow the house before we had ds, now he's here, we've definitely outgrown the house.

Currently having downstairs loo re-done then it's on to ds' bedroom. Excited to get stuck in to the house this year after neglecting it a bit over the last couple of years!

The fitter quit less than halfway through as “his head wasn’t in the right place” We ended up finishing it ourselves as couldn’t get anyone else for weeks.
After he left we found 2 tall units fitted upside down, drawer runners hung 2” too low so dewars wouldn’t shut, holes gouged into plasterboard to slot cupboards into, pipe work in wrong place for taps, 4 leaks in new pipe work, some wall units wedged in place rather than screwed to the wall, dishwasher plumbed in wrong... and more I can’t even remember! It cost a fortune replacing/ fixing/ redoing his work, then he got in touch asking for the rest of his money (paid about a quarter up front!) We were without a kitchen for 2 months. Not fun!

Getting our bathroom renovated

A few other bits then selling and moving to (hopefully) a bungalow which we can renovate
