Help me decide on colours! (Picture)

I've just papered one wall (excuse the finish but I've not quite finished!) and the other wall around the window is the palest of pink

I need blinds and curtains - I want Venetian as the other windows at the front of the house all have them, and probably wooden. What colours do you think for both? I was thinking pale grey for blinds and curtains but I'm fairly non creative and would love your ideas!

I would go for the creamy white tones that match the flowers. It’s lovely paper!

stophuggingme · 09/01/2020 22:19

Duck egg or a deep chocolate brown

DownWhichOfLate · 09/01/2020 22:29

Burnt orange curtains. Go bold!

Dollygirl2008 · 09/01/2020 22:31

Ooooh I was thinking safe with grey or cream, but now you're making me think....

Me too. It's a striking paper and I don't think it needs any more enhancement.

DownWhichOfLate · 09/01/2020 22:46

And the curtains should be velvet!

Howmanysleepsnow · 09/01/2020 23:04

Teal. And yes, velvet!

TooMinty · 10/01/2020 17:10

Please can you tell me where you got your wallpaper from? I love it!

Needhelpturninglifearound · 10/01/2020 17:14

Always take the colours from one place to tie the room together. For example, if you have a picture you really like, then draw colours from the picture.

You have grey, blues, pinks and creams in the wallpaper. Don't have too many colours as it will look a bit chaotic. Neutral furnishing (natural colours) with coloured accessories. For example, cream/grey/taupe sofa with blue and pink cushions. You can always change the accessories to freshen up the place.

I always go for natural fabrics: linen, cotton, silk, wool.

Teal velvet. Yummy. It's fab paper.

Thank you for all your replies!!!

And yes, the wallpaper is seriously lovely isn't it!! It's from Wayfair and it was so easy to put up!

Teal

sirmione16 · 10/01/2020 21:33

Personally I'd let them be neutral, the wallpaper is your feature here

Dollygirl2008 · 10/01/2020 22:03

I've decided on a very pale (very pale) wooden Venetian blind with the same colour velvet curtains!

Photos when you’re done please!

TooMinty · 11/01/2020 09:14

Wayfair - totally didn't occur to me that they might do wallpaper, thanks!

Yes, please put up a picture of the finished room.

Dollygirl2008 · 11/01/2020 12:26

It's called sylvan and comes in a few colours. The picture doesn't do it justice - it's a beautiful shimmery silver background

TooMinty · 11/01/2020 15:01

Will take a look, thanks!

Spied · 11/01/2020 15:03

I'd go teal or fushia heavy curtains and definitely dark brown wood blinds
