Posting here for traffic. Run of class bday parties coming up. Looking for a standard gift that can buy for them all- don't really know the kiddos. Feel all out of ideas even though have 6yo of my own. Any inspiration? Budget up to £10

Miniature Lego set.

I just put £10 in a card, they can choose what they want with it.

Kanga83 · 09/01/2020 22:23

For run of the mill class ones where you hardly know them I do the 10 for £10 books in the works which they get one each, plus a colouring/puzzle book. I think at that age it's plenty when the majority of kids are probably inundated with stuff

For girls (and boys?)... Bags you colour in like www.argos.co.uk/product/2677462
Or some of the other craft sets from there

I buy everyone a remote controlled car from John Lewis at £6.99 Smile. Boy or girl.
I also bought ten metres of recycled brown paper and some ribbon, so they all get wrapped the same too Grin.
The only thing that changes is the card, which is 3 for £3 from Asda. Last term we had many weeks where it was a class party every weekend, sometimes twice, so I took to buying 6 at a time. Tbf the people in John Lewis didn’t blink, although we must have looked odd, clearing the shelves of one product.
They are great wee cars!
If I particularly like the child I’ll upgrade to the £9.99 car.

Notebook and pens/pencil set from Wilkos /The Works /B+M etc. Way cheaper than a tenner and most likely to get used by the child (or other family members) than piles of random toys.

Aqua dragons. I can’t think of a child who wouldn’t love them.

converseandjeans · 09/01/2020 23:15

Someone started off £10 in a card in DS class and it took off. No worries about going to shop & the kids love it as they may get over £100 to get something big they want like bike or scooter. DS got £160 & was delighted!

Weirdly I can’t seem to find it on John Lewis online , although I can find the slightly more expensive version
www.johnlewis.com/radio-controlled-car-1-24-scale-assorted/p231252220

In the shop (and I’ve bought them from two different John Lewis’s) there is a blue one at £6.99.
