Shagged Married Annoyed. Took me a few episodes to get into it, but I listen to it on car journeys & I always laugh out loud!

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 09/01/2020 21:17

Shagged, married, annoyed. Rosie and Chris Ramsay being hilarious. Although there are many others that I like.

Scummy mummies.
Fat lot of good.
Serial.
Case file.
Grown up land

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 09/01/2020 21:21

That Peter Crouch podcast because I love football but it's also funny and illuminating.

Older and Wider because you either are already, or if not, you will be in the vibe one day, one or the other, or maybe it relates to a family relative and you laugh because it resonates. It has a guest most episodes.

BunnytheBlueWhale · 09/01/2020 21:21

Think I need to listen to Shagged Married Annoyed!

My favourite is Ask Iliza Anything by Iliza Schlesinger, an American comic, but most people I meet don’t know who she is! She has five shows on Netflix

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/01/2020 21:22

Shagged Married Annoyed
Table Manners
My Dad Wrote a Porno
They Walk Among Us
Desert Island Discs

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/01/2020 21:23

Serial (s1 and s2. Not a fan of s3).
S Town

CallofDoodee · 09/01/2020 21:25

Definitely My Dad Wrote a Porno - I have literally been bent over crying with laughter at times!

I tried Shagged, Married, Annoyed but I can't get into it. I mean they seem like nice people and I would ride Chris Ramsey into next week, but I have listened to a few episodes and it just seems like them laughing at their own jokes and thinking they are really funny, and I have been a bit disappointed.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/01/2020 21:26

I’ve never listened to a podcast so watching this with interest

eurochick · 09/01/2020 21:31

Serial was interesting (series 1 and 3)

Before the election I was addicted to Brexitcast and The Political Party but both are having a break at the moment.

I always enjoy R4's Friday Night Comedy.

The Infinite Monkey Cage is interesting and I always learn something.

Tashtegotoo · 09/01/2020 21:32

No Such Thing As A Fish. It's amusing and interesting.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 09/01/2020 21:33

I agree @CallofDoodee, I've listened to a few Shagged, Married, Annoyed but although I like both Chris and Rosie, I don't find the podcasts engaging enough.

I also tried Women Like Us but that didn't do it for me either.

crankysaurus · 09/01/2020 21:33

Drunk Women Solving Crime

eternalfun · 09/01/2020 21:35

Mrs Brightside. Susan Calman talks to other comedians about depression and mental health. I’ve found it really thought provoking and also funny.

MooKnee · 09/01/2020 21:36

Great recommendations, can I ask maybe for any new comments to give a very brief summary on what it’s about too

I like Today in Focus from The Guardian - it covers some really interesting subjects that are usually relevant to current news.

99% Invisible - American centric but is extremely interesting and varied

Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster although I think the last series went off the boil a bit

Dear Joan and Jericha - Julia Davis and Vicky Peppardine are just roar out loud funny.

My Dad write a Porno

Athletico Mince - mostly for the Woy Hodgson appearances.

Distraction Pieces with Scroobius Pip - again, he often has interesting people in and if they are someone I don't know I still find it interesting.

The Adam Buxton podcast - he's been a bit arse licky of his subjects lately but the earlier podcasts are nice gentle listening.

Evil Genius with Russell Kane

This American life

Beautiful Anonymous

Standard Issue

The Guilty Feminist

Friday Night comedy at the BBC

All also worth a listen.

LadyCassandra · 09/01/2020 21:40

Scummy mummies
Fat lot of good
The midult
No filter (Australian)
Sue Perkins
David Tennant
Hooked
Nowhere child (Australian)
Who the hell is Hamish? (Australian)
Teachers Pet (Australian)
Ellie and Anna have issues

NellyTimes · 09/01/2020 21:42

RHLSTP. That's what the cool kids are calling it anyway, don't know if it'll catch on.

BarbaraofSeville · 09/01/2020 21:54

Scummy Mummies. Like an audio version of Mumsnet. Their latest episode has Fi and Jane from Fortunately, which is another of my favourites.

The Unbelieveable Truth. The rules are as follows, each guest has to prepare a lecture that is whoely false, save for five truths cunningly hidden amongst the lies. Panelists gain one point for spotting a truth and lose points for mistaking a lie for a truth.

Friday night comedy - alternates between the News Quiz - radio version of HIGNFY and Punt and Dennis doing topical political comedy that I can't remember the name of the show.

Victoria Coren Mitchell did a good one call 'Women talking about cars' which did exactly what it said on the tin, but that seems to have ended now.

Out to lunch where Jay Rayner takes a celeb, umm, out for lunch and interesting conversation.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 09/01/2020 22:01

More or Less (R4) - unpicking numbers and statistics quoted in the news. It should be required listening Grin

Last Word (R4) - obituaries of significant people, not necessarily famous

SixStringFanjo · 09/01/2020 22:06

Do the Right Thing
Cracking Christmas episode just out. I don't understand why Danielle Ward isn't on every tv panel show going.
2nd place to Off Menu

BarbaraofSeville · 09/01/2020 22:09

YY to More or Less. Tim Harford would have a field day with the 'data' generated by the 'how much do you earn', 'how many portions of fruit and veg' or 'how long did you breastfeed for' type threads on here and how you need to carefully design your study to include a representative sample of the population or else generate totally misleading results from your survey.

wakemewhenitsallover · 09/01/2020 22:17

This is beautifully done. Can't remember anything quite like it.

BBC's Forest 404 - trailer

Episode 1

An environmental thriller, with each episode accompanied by a separate talk and a soundscape.
