My Favorite Murder

Serial S1 (the podcast that started the true crime obsession)

Adam Buxton - I particularly love his jingles and ads, and his podcasts with mates - Joe Cornish and Louis Theroux are brilliant.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 09/01/2020 22:50

Just discovered Fell Better Live More - episode 91 is the most fascinating listen - n interview with John McAvoy who spent 8 years in high security prisons and turned his life around and is now an athlete. Can’t recommend that episode enough.

Also like White Wine Question Time for a bit of celeb goss

buzzy1 · 09/01/2020 23:02

I love Fortunately with Fi Glover and Jane Garvey for some very witty and candid banter ;
Samira Ahmed’s ‘How I found my voice’ for insightful interviews - Gina Miller’s was incredible
Also love Jay Raynor’s Out to lunch and Kitchen Cabinet

RHLSTP (Richard Herring)- interviews people, interesting and funny

Do the Right thing-comedy

Adam Buxton

How to Fail by Elizabeth Day

No such thing as a fish

S-town

Scummy mummies

Evil Genius

In the dark - fantastic investigative journalism.

CollaterlieSistersSister · 10/01/2020 12:06

RHLSTP (RHLSTP)

And I’d say start with Les Dennis episode to hook you in immediately.

And if your mind is in the gutter (like mine) head for the Greg Davies ones next.

ginandnappies · 10/01/2020 20:35

Dead time storiez. Because I love spooky stuff Grin

Lepetitpiggy · 10/01/2020 20:46

The griefcast - it can be a little annoying depending on the guest but has helped me loads after my mum died last year

MintedLamb · 10/01/2020 20:59

Redhanded - two British, female hosts talking about true crime. They've got great banter and are fab storytellers.

SnowGo · 10/01/2020 23:06

Redhanded - UK based murder/ true crime podcast. More UK centric than others, and the presenters have a good balance of getting straight to the facts, and having a bit of a (tasteful) joke and chat.

And No Such Thing as A Fish - basically QI in a podcast.

Puppylucky · 11/01/2020 20:02

Adam buxton - funny and interesting
Richard Herring - amazing guests
The Drop Out - really interesting podcast about Elizabeth Holmes

OneToThree · 11/01/2020 20:09

I’ve just discovered RHLSTP and it’s brilliant.

Room 20 is really interesting.

The two shot podcast has got some interesting people on. Neil Morrisey being one.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/01/2020 20:14

No Such Thing as A Fish - basically QI in a podcast I would describe it as QI without the the smugness. I love it!

I recommend The Allusionist. Surprisingly diverse and occasionally amusing for a programme that is essentially about language and words

ScarlettDarling · 11/01/2020 21:07

I really enjoy Loose lips with Luisa Zissman and Anna Williamson. It's really easy listening and super funny.

LidlDonkey · 11/01/2020 21:15

My Dad Wrote a Porno is by far the funniest podcast ever. It took me ages before I'd listen to it, as I thought it sounded sleazy. But it's hilarious.

Soggymacaroon · 11/01/2020 21:18

My dad wrote a porno - because it’s hilarious, it’s made me laugh so many times.
Casefiles - but less so recently because the guys voice has started to annoy me.
Griefcast - it’s really heavy though sometimes, I like to relate to people who have lost someone. It helps me process my own pain. Jayson Greenes story had me in tears.

Soggymacaroon · 11/01/2020 21:19

Oh and of course no such thing as a fish, I love the facts and use them unashamedly all the time.

BusMum79 · 11/01/2020 21:20

Fortunately with Fi Glover and Jane Garvey
Brexitcast
How To Fail With Elizabeth Day
Desert Island Dicks (actually very funny)
The Off Menu Podcast w/ James Acaster and Ed Gamble (which makes me snort with laughter a lot)
I also like David Tennant’s podcast
And- my gateway podcast (very, very niche, admittedly) Neighbuzz, the Neighbours Recap Podcast

greenfieldsofrance · 11/01/2020 21:27

Dear Joan and Jericha- hilarious

Hip hop saved my life - Romesh Ranganathan interviewing hip hop artists. If you like Romesh anyway you'll find it funny but if you also like hip hop it's a must listen

Amy schumer, can't remember what it's called but again if you like her humour, it's great.

Burplecutter · 11/01/2020 21:28

What app is best for Android?
I used to listen to scummy mummies and my dad wrote a porno years ago, and want to get back into podcasts again, but not sure what app to use.

rosybell · 11/01/2020 21:29

I agree about Shagged Married Annoyed, Chris & Rosie seem like a genuinely lovely couple but recently they just tell stories about poo and laugh hysterically.. I have stopped listening to it now.

Griefcast and Terrible, thanks for asking both have really heartbreaking subject matters and I find peoples stories fascinating.

Dawn O'Porter has a new podcast called Lucky (I think), and all the episodes so far have been great

StirFriedBadger · 11/01/2020 21:33

Dear Joan and Jerica. It's definitely not for everyone but makes be laugh so much. Fingers crossed they make Series 3!
