I decided to get a bubbly bath before tea this evening...dd2 sat at the side of me and played a counter for both her and me in a game of snakes and ladders Confused Grin. It wasn't quite the relaxing half hour I had in mind Hmm

Out at dinner with DH

SanAntonio · 09/01/2020 21:04

Are you Kate Middleton?

I thought you were going to say that your SIL and BIL stole your thunder and you didn't get to be a princess on your birthday as your DH spent the day on the phone moaning to his dad and granny.

Ninkanink · 09/01/2020 21:06

MASSIVELY pissed off with my BIL and SIL.

Echobelly · 09/01/2020 21:07

I'm not sure. I think I'd given up on parties/outings with friends because everyone was so flaky, though at least everyone redeemed themselves at my 40th!

Bluetoothbitch · 09/01/2020 21:08

DH has had dinner, went for a run, had a beer and were sat watching movie whilst DS is poorly on the sofa.

Fatted · 09/01/2020 21:10

Genuinely can't remember. I've given up on birthdays since I had my youngest. His birthday is now the day before mine, so all attention is on him now.

bigchris · 09/01/2020 21:11

Most likely same as most birthdays since dc came along

Chinese

Bottle of prosecco

Something on tv thst makes me laugh like friends or how I met your mother

40th was a departure

A picnic Grin hold the front page Grin

Funnily enough that was my favourite ever birthday.
I invited 6 friends out to an Indian restaurant.
We had a fabulous evening with excellent "grown up" conversations and debates.
Everyone sent me a thank you e-mail the next day, too, which was lovely - especially as they wouldn't let me pay the bill (for which I had budgeted as I issued the invitation).
I may have been slightly hungover the next day due to 5 White Ladies ;-)

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 09/01/2020 21:17

I turned 38 just before Christmas. We got a Chinese takeaway and once the kids were in bed, I enjoyed some Buck's Fizz then finished wrapping presents before loading the car with them all ready for visiting family.

Grobagsforever · 09/01/2020 21:18

Why on earth did you let DD in the bathroom? It's ok for kids to have boundaries you know!

I was at a work event so me and colleagues went to a gin bar.

HeyChief · 09/01/2020 21:33

I actually can’t remember- and it was only 6 months ago.
Probably takeaway and wine.

Puffykins · 09/01/2020 21:34

I was at a Frozen-themed birthday party/ DEAFENING bubble disco for an 8 year old in a weirdly freezing church hall... most of the other parents dropped and ran but my DCs wouldn't let me because "Mummy, it's YOUR birthday. STAY WITH US."

lucysmam · 09/01/2020 21:36

Grobags it swings itself open even from properly shut so she'd have come to see me at some point anyway.

SanAntonio, nope. The girls were surprised to learn that random snippet of information this morning though! And then I found out that my 1:1 also has his birthday today :)

So order her out! Seriously bathroom time = private time

wakemewhenitsallover · 09/01/2020 22:23

No idea, can't remember! But I had a very young baby at the time.

...

OK, looked it up on Facebook. I had a lovely picnic with friends, about 3 weeks after my birthday to celebrate it.

On my actual birthday evening, I expect I was at home snuggling the new baby!

RachelTension · 09/01/2020 23:42

Drinking cocktails by the pool in Sri Lanka. Last birthday so remember it.

Sorry about your disturbance OP, maybe have a re-run tomorrow?

resipsa · 09/01/2020 23:49

Went to South of France intending to have a laugh...and watched TV news in hotel as financial crash of 08 unfolded.

CheesePleaseLoueese · 10/01/2020 07:51

A lovely fish dinner with my husband as a glass of wine (singular) because I was pregnant x

ParanoidGynodroid · 10/01/2020 07:57

Can’t honestly remember, but I did have a 9 month old baby at the time, so I doubt it’d have been too exciting!

StCharlotte · 10/01/2020 08:18

Ooh - having worked out the year, I can remember now! I went to see Mamma Mia in Toronto.

anothernamejeeves · 10/01/2020 09:05

The kids had a tantrum/couldn't agree on what they would eat so we went back to our holiday accommodation
My idiot DH had thrown my tasty treats out I had stashed to eat later in error (so he said) so I went to bed and cried
