How to clean emulsion paint

When we were moving house a tin of emulsion paint was spilt in the boot of my car! All over 🙄 (yes looking at you dd)

Does anyone have any idea on how to get rid of it? It's all over the carpet in the boot. Would a carpet cleaner work? I'm half thinking of selling my car and obviously this devalues it a lot. I would be grateful for suggestions.

Emulsion is usually water based, so assuming the paint hasn’t dried on you could soak it off the carpet if you can get it out of the car and into the bath, you’d need to do several changes of water. Then soak for a while in some warm water with detergent added, and repeat the rinsing again. This will be a nice boring job for DD to do as a punishment! See what the carpet is like once it’s dry.

It's well and truly dried on I'm afraid plus I can't remove the carpet Sad

Thank you for sympathy

Ah I see. The post didn’t say it was dried on paint. My car has a removable piece of carpet in the boot so that I can access the spare wheel.

Any chance you can get it replaced at a dealership? You might make the money back if you sell the car?

If its dried it might scrape off.

girly mine isn't removable sadly. I'm not sure how they would go about renewing it. I will check. Good idea to try brushing it. I will do this.
