What's wrong with my nose?

About 5 days ago one side of my nose felt very sore, really tender to touch. One side was slightly swollen - it was only painful on that side and up a little into my forehead. The first night I had a stuffy nose though not snotty but that cleared. It feels a lot like when you have a big spot coming except no spot.

The pain has migrated over the last few days, moved to the bridge of my nose yesterday so that it was sore to lightly run my finger down my nose. Now it's swapped sides entirely and the other side has swelled up a little and is very sore to touch, pain radiating back into my forehead again.

Initially I thought sinus infection but it's weird how the pain has moved - the side that was originally sore is totally fine now and has been since the pain moved to the bridge of my nose. Similarly that's now less tender now that the other side is sore. So it's not like it's spreading, it's moving.

If it carries on will see a doctor but want to avoid it because it's a pain and I need to work, so wondering if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms?

Oh my goodness, I have no idea what this is but I have recently had exactly the same! Had it in November and it settled down over a few days, then had it again a month later.
So painful, felt like a huge spot was brewing but nothing ever case out. Side of nose was swollen and felt bruised.
Sounds so similar to yours that I just had to check I hadn't written this post and then forgotten!

Same here and then had it in my ear, must be a strange virus.

Always that's really interesting. It was starting to feel a little better today but then this evening my two year old accidentally headbutted me right on the nose and now it's ridiculously painful. Think I might have to see a doctor tomorrow.

Sounds like a sinus infection to me, they do move around
