BearSoFair · 08/01/2020 14:02

Shamelessly stolen from 6 Music, I'm really enjoying seeing the mix on Twitter! I've changed my choices multiple times already but as of this moment...

  1. Sound & Vision
  2. Moonage Daydream
  3. Soul Love
  4. The Prettiest Star
  5. Changes
  6. Magic Dance, if it counts.

BearSoFair · 09/01/2020 21:26

Grin I'm glad everyone seemed to be struggling to narrow it down too!

If I was picking six today I think I'd change it up from what I had yesterday...

  1. Sound & Vision (always number one for me)
  2. Blackstar (I have a Blackstar tattoo so should probably have been in my list from the start!)
  3. Rock & Roll Suicide
  4. Five Years
  5. Ashes to Ashes
  6. Hallo Spaceboy (with the Pet Shop Boys, what a collaboration)
OP posts:
IamPickleRick · 09/01/2020 21:30

Modern love
Wild is the wind
As the world falls down
Lady stardust
Sorrow
Under pressure

And I have a real soft spot for loving the alien, even though it’s not very good 😂

IamPickleRick · 09/01/2020 21:39

Ok my cd2 with my alternative choices (that probably aren’t considered to be very good but I love their weirdness) would be;

Loving the Alien
Ricohet
Fame
Beauty and the Beast
TVC-15
We are the dead

SixStringFanjo · 09/01/2020 22:11

Soul Love
Drive in Saturday
Hang onto Yourself
The Man who Sold the World
Prettiest Star
John I'm only Dancing

Fruityb · 09/01/2020 22:19

Aaaahhh I loved Hallo Spaceboy!

HalfBrick · 09/01/2020 22:24

The ones I listen to the most (lately) in order:

Five years
Young Americans
Golden Years
Rebel Rebel
Queen Bitch

Bonus listen - the brief Bowie backing vocals on Lou Reed's Satellite of Love are just gorgeous.

Also been watching his Young Americans on the Dick Cavett show a lot too (you tube).

Starksforthewin · 10/01/2020 01:32

Can you believe it’s been four years already?

RIP dear David. You are still so loved, even this little thread shows how much.

ALongHardWinter · 10/01/2020 02:11
  1. Life on Mars.
  2. Suffragette City.
  3. Jean Genie.
  4. Rebel Rebel
  5. Star man
  6. Golden Years
DressingGown · 10/01/2020 02:30

Drive in Saturday
All the young dudes
Five years
Lazarus
Rock n roll suicide
Let’s Dance

I’ve rewritten that list, a lot.

I love Labyrinth. It’s all sorts of wrong.

DecadeEnds · 10/01/2020 02:35

Let’s Dance
Kooks
Wild is the Wind
Ashes to Ashes
Absolute Beginners
Lazarus

ImASlatternGetMeOutOfHere · 10/01/2020 02:55

I can’t put together a list of six, it’s just not possible. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and have seen him live so many times. He was such a legend. I still haven’t been able to listen to Blackstar. It really is too raw.

We managed to see Labyrinth on the big screen recently and it was brilliant. I loved being able to introduce my kids to it. They are all Bowie fans anyway ( they didn’t get much choice in this household).

DarlingNikita · 10/01/2020 10:43

Forgot about Sorrow too! That would be my Bowie- oke song.

BovaryX · 11/01/2020 13:17

It's very difficult to reduce it to a six song playlist. I think it's easier to reduce it to three albums
Ziggy Stardust
Hunky Dory
Low
Here's my missing playlist which I couldn't fit into first six....
Five Years
Golden Years
The man who sold the world
John I'm only dancing
Secret life of Arabia
Rebel Rebel

isseywith4vampirecats · 11/01/2020 13:19

Space Oddity
Drive in Saturday
Life on Mars
Gene Genie
Rebel Rebel
Japanese Girl
could carry on but you said six
