No symptoms after A&E visit?

Hi all I’m very worried and hope you can help me.

I’m approx 9 weeks pregnant and this is my 2nd pregnancy.

I had sever Hyperemisis with my first pregnancy from about 7-15 weeks and then it eased off.

I know every pregnancy is different but we took nearly 2 years to conceive this second child and I am naturally very worried.

With this pregnancy, I had a bleed scare at 5 weeks but my follow up at EPU (at 8 weeks) showed a heartbeat and that the bleeding had pretty much gone.

My nausea and sickness then started and I deteriorated very quickly.
I couldn’t stomach ANY foods or liquids and was throwing up any little I did try within 10 minutes. This caused me to lose 15 lbs in about a week and I got severely dehydrated.

At my wits end, and desperately needing help (despite promising myself I would try not to take medication) my DH and I went to A&E on sunday morning.

Even though I felt so sick, I remember it being much worse when pregnant with my first so I wasn’t sure if I would be diagnosed with HG. But the doctors declared it was HG. They then put me on 2 bags of fluids and also Ondansetron (Zofran).

After 8 hours in A&E, I finally got some hydration and managed to eat a sandwich (after not eating for a week!).
I was prescribed oral medication but I thought not to take it unless absolutely necessary.
But now, ever since my trip to A&E, my sickness is nowhere near bad, I’m able to stomach some foods and my nausea is also much milder.
When I was admitted to hospital with my first pregnancy, my symptoms came back within 10 hours of meds after leaving my body.

It’s now been 3 days and now I’m worried why I’m not suffering as much as I did when I’m still only 9 weeks. I’m really worried now. I have also had mild diarreah and also some cramps (period-like).

Surely the meds would have left my body by now?

Is it a bad sign that I’m not feeling the same symptoms before my trip to A&E?

I’m sorry for the long post, but my DH is unhappy with me that I keep thinking the worst but I can’t help it.

Can anyone help me with why my symptoms might have dramatically reduced?

Thank you x

I would probably speak to midwife/doctor, with the cramps

Could also be that rehydrating you and getting some food in you has got you out of the vomiting cycle?

Sure you didn’t just have a bug?

I really don’t think it would have been a bug. It was very much strong nausea which didn’t allow me to want to eat or drink a single thing. And also the vomiting. It’s just stopped as soon as it had started. Maybe thinking too much into it.
Oh dear, pregnancy eh? It’s a problem when I’m feeling so sick, and a problem when I’m not, isn’t it! Hmm
