I went to brush my teeth and my DH had put new batteries in my electric toothbrush. Shiny, smooth teeth tonight!

Almost 4 decades ago

Down the road from me is an old man who sells vegetables by the side of the road. I've lived here 3 years, and every time I drive by, I wave and smile.

Today was the first day he waved back.

I shed actual tears (very hormonal and there's a full moon coming).

No smile yet, but I'd almost be disappointed if he gave in all on one day.

Somebody has just volunteered to take on a community role working alongside me in my village - they have just arrived in the village and it's so good to see that they want to get involved.

Might save it for a day I'm not so emotional, though – poor fella has no idea the little love affair I've built up with him in my mind over the years and I might try and hug him
