Dartcharge times

On Saturday morning I'll be taking the Dartford Crossing around 6am which is when the chargeable period begins. There's a reasonable chance I'll be starting to cross just as the clock ticks over.

Does anyone know if the 6am start time relates to when you begin the crossing or if you start at 5.59 but are still on the bridge/in the tunnel at 6.01 you need to pay?

How can you tell if you need to? Is there some display that shows if you've been within the chargeable period or not?

You can set up an account with dart charge and it will show the times you crossed

No expert but I'm guessing it's at the old toll booths which is end of bridge and beginning of tunnel. I think that's where the cameras are.

Ah, that's good to know. I only use it a couple of times a year so I've just done one-off payments without the account.

That sounds like the answer in just one reply!
