How often do you cringe at past actions?

Just a light hearted musing really. Do you ever randomly cringe at things you've done in the past and how often would you do that? I think either I've done too many cringeworthy things or they pop into my mind too often. 😬.

Usually in the middle of the night Grin

SpeedofaSloth · 07/01/2020 19:27

Yep, usually 3am.

lowwintersun · 07/01/2020 19:27

Totally!

ALL THE TIME Blush

GorkyMcPorky · 07/01/2020 19:30

I've done this a couple of times today. O often do it because I seem to say and do stupid things more often than most! That said, perhaps people who don't have this problem are just a bit less paranoid.

StylishDuck · 07/01/2020 19:30

Oh god yes! I'll randomly just remember something and feel really squirmy for ages BlushBlushBlush

Beautyoftheirdreams · 07/01/2020 19:31

Yup, every morning when I read my Facebook memories past statuses...

simplekindoflife · 07/01/2020 19:31

I torture myself most bedtimes with the stuff I've said or done! Blush

isitsnowingyet · 07/01/2020 19:31

Yes yes and double yes.

Sometimes the cringing wears off after around 24 hours.

LovelyTinsellyBaublesReg · 07/01/2020 19:35

Constantly. All day. Every day. I am a twat.

MrsPerfect12 · 07/01/2020 19:49

Random things I've done pop into my head and I cringe.

lowwintersun · 07/01/2020 19:54

Sorry to say 😂, but this is really excellent for me to read. Sometimes I'll cringe and say "oh no" out loud and my family think something awful has happened. But no, I'm just remembering some fuckwittery or another.

I call them crimson memories.

Royallyscrewed · 07/01/2020 20:00

Frequently- as a teen I decided that singing Meatloaf’s I will do anything for love at the boy I fancied, with soulful eye contact and theatre style arm motions was a valid flirting Technique. It wasn’t in case anyone was in any doubt.
To this day I cannot hear that song or even think about it without doing a full body cringe and cursing 14 year old me for thinking any bright ideas after drinking a litre of white lightning were worth acting on.

Shahlalala · 07/01/2020 20:01

Yes! I’m actually relieved it’s not just me. Blush

daisychain01 · 07/01/2020 20:01

I was out on my bike at the weekend and I don't know if it was the sudden rush of oxygen to my head but I literally cringed for about 5 miles.

Embarrassing Thing after Thing popped into my head. It's the story of my life being embarrassed and constantly Blush. I comfort myself that at least it makes me human. Who wants to be perfect all the time! I'd be happy being perfect 0.00000001% of the time Grin

Royallyscrewed · 07/01/2020 20:02

Also realised I’m the only one to over share the reason for cringing. I am a twat.

Doubleraspberry · 07/01/2020 20:03

Roughly every ten minutes, I think. Usually freshly generated ones too as my foot lives in my mouth. But I have the enduring classics too.

bsc · 07/01/2020 20:03

Not so much cringe but genuinely wonder wtf I was thinking Confused
For example, once I applied for a job, interviewed successfully, had a start date...then just didn't turn up! Confused
I look back now and wonder was I on glue? (I wasn't!)

Shahlalala · 07/01/2020 20:04

@Royallyscrewed I cringed for you there.
Mine are largely teenage I know everything moments! How nobody put me in my place I don’t know.
Kissing random people on nights out in younger days is a frequent one, there were some questionable choices made. Envy

bsc · 07/01/2020 20:04

@SpeedofaSloth very droll!

GreaterSpottedFemale · 07/01/2020 20:10

I actively try not to. A thought pops in saying "remember that time you :You were SUUUCH a " And I go "LALALALALAAA, I can't heaaaar yoooou!!!" And deliberately think of something I did well or was proud of to counteract it.

If I allowed myself to go ahead and think about them I'd literally turn inside-out with the sheer cringe factor of past shames!

megletthesecond · 07/01/2020 20:24

All the time. I need my brain wiping.

Proudownerofplants · 07/01/2020 20:25

Far too regularly. Usually stupid things 12 year old me did.

tmh88 · 07/01/2020 20:29

So glad this isn’t just me Blush I was a horrendously cringe teen! My mum still has a picture of me in tye dye jeans and a velvet roll neck top with like a creased material vest over the top holding a can of StellaShock I seriously don’t know who I thought I was! Envy
