Anyone feeling fed up today?

Nothing particularly special happened to make me feel like it, but this evening I just feel fed up, sad and emotional.

Just wondering if anyone else is feeling it tonight and what are you doing to help?

These past few days I've been feeling very fed up, sad and emotional. Keep thinking 'Is this really it? This is my life now?'
I've just made a cup of tea and sat down to watch an old favourite film.

Brew Hope you're feeling better soon OP.

Yes. Christmas and new year were tough for me mentally really struggled.
Really trying to stay positive but it's hard.

Charley50 · 07/01/2020 19:57

Yes, I am.

Yes, tbh, feeling a bit under the weather physically at the moment. We are moving house in a couple of months, everything just seems like so much work and so expensive. Trying to lose weight, dieting never helps my mood. I'm going to be 45 on Thursday, feel as though I haven't achieved much but hoping to feel a bit better by then. Think its the time of year. Lets face it once Christmas is over, we're ready for Spring.

I've been like that the last few days. Just fed up, quite low, etc. This afternoon has been good though and had two bits of good news so feeling much more positive.

Hope you're feeling better soon Cake Flowers

Me. I’m usually a pretty upbeat cheerful type. This last few days I’ve felt like everything is just a huge effort and I just feel ‘flat’, can’t get any joy in anything.

I’ll be 65 in a couple of weeks but I don’t think it’s that.. DH is being a grumpy arse but I just ignore his moods, they don’t bother me anymore and he’ll snap out of it soon enough...

This is a strange feeling for me and I’m not enjoying it at all.

bellalou1234 · 07/01/2020 20:08

I'm not and I normally have periods were I feel really low, tearful and snappy. I'm so happy christmas is out of the way, I had a rubbish time, worked it all, my dm was hardwork. I feel less low I think as I've made loads of plans for new year and really made the effort to see people other than my dm. January used to be a struggle, going back to work, nothing to look forward to,l.

Yes Sad

SapphireSeptember · 07/01/2020 20:11

Yeah, I started crying earlier over my ex (I left him in 2018.) I'm much happier, I'm enjoying my life, but he wrecked my self-esteem and I'm still trying to get that back. Even talking to my special 'friend' wasn't helping, I wasn't in the mood for sexy stuff. I feel better now, but it just made me feel a bit crap.

Ifeelinclined · 07/01/2020 20:52

Yes. It's a shit feeling.

Singlenotsingle · 07/01/2020 23:35

It's the time of year. Get a light box. They're supposed to help.

Monstermoomin · 08/01/2020 11:12

Thank you for replies and well wishes! Maybe it is the time of year, husband suggested it could be due to lack of vitamin D etc. I used to have it prescribed strong amounts over the winter and suggested to take it through the year as low levels so perhaps a light box would help!

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon too!

Yes.....have a day off (work full time shift pattern have two kids) I'm shattered which is why. I'm now going to have a nice lay down hugs x

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/01/2020 11:45

Oh yes, every January and February without fail.

November and December are OK as there is Christmas to look forward to and busy with lots of stuff. March I can cope with as there is the promise of spring and more light...

Hope we all feel better soon.

dudsville · 08/01/2020 11:50

Is this the January blues? If so there's a degree of needing to ride it out, but also, yes yes to the Vit D and eat healthily and go to bed early and look after yourself. We're in the hardest time of the year re light. It wasn't really daylight here until 7:45 this morning and even then it was so grey and dismal. Everything's wet and has been for months. It's not winter in terms of the cold where I am but it's not spring yet, just meh.
