4 yr old and neck pain

My daughter woke up early this morning complaining of neck pain. I gave her some calpol as she was quite distressed, it hasn’t worked yet and that was an hour and a half ago. She is crying with the pain and hasn’t taken her hand off her neck the entire time she has been awake. She doesn’t have any sensitivity to light, has a slight sore throat but permanently seems to have that. Is it ok to give nurofen too? Should I be seeking medical advice? Thank you.

Give the nurofen too and keep a close eye. As the only symptom I wouldn't be unduly worried but use your instincts

Sit her up can she put her chin to her chest?

If no I would call 111

Give the nurofen too and keep a close eye.

NHS advice is not to give both. I would maybe try a hot water bottle/heat bag and see how she goes. It is something I would be seeing the GP for if it doesn't ease off though. If it were me I would assume trapped nerve but with small kids you just don't know

Given that it's a young child who can't tell you if it's a trapped nerve or not I think you need to try to get her to a doctor today. She seems to be in a considerable amount of pain.

I'd get her seen, just to be on the safe side.
