Because this place is amazing. It’s too close to MIL and far away from Edinburgh for us, plus we would have no idea how to do it, plus we don’t have the money, but I would like somebody to do great things with it.

Beautiful
Sod the business, can’t I just live in it? 😂

Well, maybe if Phoebe Waller Bridge etc need it for filming....I could take the money and chat over tea!

But what a waste of 9 bedrooms! You’ve got to share the joy. The pub next door is going all Fat Duck and there’s a big kitchen so I’m thinking cook school.
It’s all 16th century and just aaah. Historical.

But my friends can have their own rooms! And we’d have lots of space to play!

Ooh we could set up a library....

I had a holiday in that part of the world. very lovely to visit but an odd sort of place. not entirely caught up with the 20th century yet but doing really well.

any business venture in that beautiful building would have to either be hugely profitable such that you only needed to attract a small money of clients to break even, or be run by someone independently wealthy who didn't need to turn a profit and just wanted to enjoy themselves. The local population wouldn't be able to produce sufficient demand to sustain any kind of venture but it is such a lovely place that it would be ideal for a niche enterprise with an internationally known reputation sufficient that people all over the world keen on that niche something would make it a holiday destination.

"small money of clients" = "small number of clients"
