Do you have any other smart home devices?

PanBanisha · 06/01/2020 17:36

No I don’t . No Alexa etc .
I have iPhone / iPad

One thing to look at is who owns them. Who do you feel happy having the data?

Ring is Amazon, Nest is Google.

If you have an iPad and iPhone I think, but I’m not sure, that the Nest will work better as you will be able to attach it to the home app on your phone.

Thanks for that .
Have a nasty ex with and expiring restraining order soon and I want to feel secure .

Maybe I should get a dog as well 😂

Hi! We have a ring and I have an iPhone etc no issues 😊 we also have other smart stuff like lights etc. which are all linked to our Alexa. We have a google mini in one of the bedrooms and I much prefer Alexa 🙈!

I love our ring and have no issues with it, monthly subscription is about £2 I think. It was easy to set up and use :-)

I have ring but am changing to nest as prefer Google.

Just off topic but related to your ex. National center of domestic violence website can help you pay for and assist you in court with a non mol when the restraining order expires.

PanBanisha · 06/01/2020 18:08

That is really helpful thanks creamcheese .... will I be able to get a non molestation if he hasn’t approached me ? He only does it when drunk and is unpredictable but it really scares me to think he will be able to knock on my door in a few weeks

If there is history there then that goes in your favour obviously but as he had had a injunction then I am not sure. Take a look at www.ncdv.org there is alot of helpful Info on there. And you can always email/call them for advice. They are a charity and I work In Safeguarding and I am always reconmmending/referring people to them.

If you have experienced domestic violence in the past, and have police records etc, they can also assist with extra security/an alert on your house.
