Breastfeeding

Hello,
I'm new to all this so I really hope someone can help me. My baby is 6 months old and has weaned really well. Loves everything and has a brilliant appetite. The trouble is he's not the best at breastfeeding, never has been to be honest unless it's at night then he feeds beautifully. Since he's started on solids he's got so much worse. I feel like I'm battling with him to feed. I've tried different rooms, different times but nothing works unless he's about to fall asleep or just waking up. He happily takes a bottle if I express though. I really don't want to stop breastfeeding, I don't feel ready and I'd rather not give him formula if I don't have to but at the same time Im worried he's not getting enough milk. Does anyone have any tips or advice? X

The fact that he is feeding at night is brilliant, that is the optimum time to maintain a good supply Is he able to take water from a sippy cup, this may stop him starting to prefer a bottle. Is he very 'busy' during the day? He may just be too distracted to feed. As long as he is taking solids he may also be 'full' enough and not actually need the same amount of breastmilk as before? There's a great Facebook page 'Breastfeeding younger babies and beyond' which may be able to give you more advice.
