Her bank statement is showing a withdrawal of €500. She didn't withdraw that amount, so she thinks maybe the atm had been tampered with. It was at the end of December. Does anyone know if there is anything she can do? It's a lot of money to her as she's a student.

Is it a UK or German bank account? She needs to speak to her bank to raise a disputed atm transaction

It's a German account. She said it's too late Sad

Why is it too late? It must be within a week or so of it being taken. When do they think she should've noticed?

Has anyone else had access to her card?

Does she know which ATM was used?

Contact her bank. The atm will have a camera and be timed. They can check who it was and the details

Of course it's not too late. Tell her to go back to them

She should go back to bank and speak to them, or call them and ask to speak to the fraud department. A slightly different situation, but my bank account in Germany was hacked many years ago. I had to report it to police and get back to bank with a case number. It took a lot of form filling and a few weeks but once the bank had established that I was not responsible for the transaction, it was refunded in full. She should not allow herself to be fobbed off.
