Size 3 nappies

gem584848838 · 05/01/2020 20:43

My baby is currently in size 2 nappies but I think she is now ready to move up to a size 3 as they're a little tight now.

I've been using Pampers premium and aldi but I've heard that aldi size 3 nappies are not as good as the size 1 and 2. Can anyone recommend some other good nappies ? I've got a few packs of the Pampers premium in size 3 but those packs are what others have bought me and I dont think I could afford to carry on buying them.

Any advice would be great! TIA

I found Aldi size three absolutely fine

uselessemployers · 05/01/2020 20:46

I've used Aldi nappies for both mine and they're brilliant :) my 11 week old is currently in size 3 and gets on fine with them! couldn't see myself using any other brand..

Oh that's good to hear!! I will try the size 3 Aldi then. Fingers crossed they are good for my little one. Thank you 🙂

That just makes me realise how small my baby is, she's 24 weeks and only just going into size 3 😂

Size 3 was the first size we tried from Aldi after previously using Pampers. They've been great!

uselessemployers · 05/01/2020 20:54

@gem584848838 oh bless her, she sounds like my first, she was born tiny and is still tiny now and she's 1 and half :)

Heyha · 05/01/2020 21:08

The Aldi size 3 are ok, but they've just started selling the premium ones at ours and they have got the moisture indicator that the newborn sizes have, and they're quite a bit softer too, still a lot cheaper than pampers so I think we will be using the premium ones now!

gem584848838 · 05/01/2020 21:15

@uselessemployers she is tiny but she is catching up now bless her! She's such a strong little thing! It's kind of nice when they're a little smaller because they feel like babies for longer!

Oh I didn't know they did premium aldi ones. I'll have a look out for those 🙂 thank you

We had a few leaks with the size 3s, I think it was because we moved up a size too soon. Now he’s a few weeks bigger they’re absolutely fine. I think there’s less of an overlap between size 2 and 3 which is maybe where people sometimes have problems like we did.

kevintheorangecarrot · 05/01/2020 21:16

I've always used Aldi's and never had a problem with any of their nappies or absorbencies.

Bobbiepin · 05/01/2020 21:17

I found aldi nappies leak more than the others. Asda's little angels are good.

modgepodge · 05/01/2020 21:17

I’ve heard lots of people say that about Aldi size 3 and above actually. We usually use Tesco just cos that’s where we shop, but my sister gave me a load of nappies her son had grown out of and there were Aldi and Asda ones, and I a also bought pampers when that’s all that was available and tbh, they’re all much of a muchness. I didn’t have issues with any of them 🤷‍♀️

Southmouth · 05/01/2020 21:18

We’ve always used Aldi nappies right from newborn to size 5+ now and never had any issues! I much prefer them to the more expensive ones actually.

gem584848838 · 05/01/2020 21:35

@Heyha I've had a look on Aldi website and can't see them premium nappies. Do you know if they are a special range only in certain shops?

I'm glad that the general consensus is that Aldi are one of the best for all sizes. Will save a lot of money getting them from there!

@gem584848838 I read somewhere that they're rolling them out gradually, they've made it to Birmingham now for definite! They're only in the smaller packets and it's a grey colour rather than the usual green packaging, if you end up having a look in store.

deste · 05/01/2020 23:08

I use Aldi, or Sainsburys size three, I prefer Aldi and I haven’t had any leaks and she is now 16 months.

TillyTheTiger · 05/01/2020 23:11

Aldi premium size 3 are great - I've been using them for a few weeks with DD and no leaks at all.

StillCounting123 · 05/01/2020 23:14

There is no Aldi where I live, so I've no idea about them.

With my 5 DC I liked the Asda Little Angels nappies and the Tesco ones.

There's a new brand in Tesco atm called Rascal and Friends - they look nice but I have found with my current baby (18 weeks old) that they leak.

AmazingGreats · 06/01/2020 09:01

I find the Lidl ones very good too. They come up a bit bigger than the other shops and are the only ones that don't leak on my kids.

AmazingGreats · 06/01/2020 09:02

I used to use Aldi but I don't think they are as good any now
