My 11 month old was diagnosed with RSV yesterday morning after being misdiagnosed Thursday at the ER. Today we took him back to the doctor because his respiratory rate was 55-60 and the doctor told me if it got that high to bring him back. Mind you he has had a fever of 100+ since Thursday. He’s oxygen stats was 93. The doctor said he was fine because most babies rates get down too below 90. I’m just wondering if I should take him for a second opinion. He was given no meds. I was told to rotate Tylenol and Motrin until his fever breaks except his fever isn’t breaking. What do i do? From a ftm.

My baby was in hospital before Christmas for 10 days with RSV including 4 days in intensive care

Oxygen saturation levels should always be above 92 minimum! I spent 10 days looking at monitors and know what the doctors find acceptable. They really want 94+

Get a second opinion.

Oh just reread your babies stats were 93.... that is passable. I disagree with the comment that they allow them to go down to 90. They certainly don't in my area
