Anyone else had D & nausea on antibiotics?

Currently on a strong set of antibiotics for an abscess and I've been having D & bad nausea for a few days now. The doctor said this would probably happen as they're very strong (and my skins been breaking out too!Sad)

Can I take anti D medication for it? How do I help the nausea? The abscess isn't even going away but it hasn't got worse so I guess that's good.

Planning to visit the GP tomorrow to have a checkup anyway as my MH has been bad lately so will get them to look at it then.

A good probiotic should help - some can be taken alongside antibiotics and help to replace the good bacteria that the antibs destroy.

@nonsensicalmess Good idea, thank you.

I had such bad nausea on antibiotics I honestly thought I'd some how got preggo even though I've got a coil fitted! It was awful ! If I ever need them again I'm going to make sure I don't have those ones! I stuck out taking them as you're not supposed to stop once you start and it did get rid of my chest infection.
Maybe they could swap you to a different antibiotics

@Cotswoldmama I literally feel so nauseas it's awful!! I'm going to ask for some anti nausea meds that I know have worked for me before instead of switching AB's I think as I'm halfway through these already so just got to keep going!😩🤢

Yeah definitely will be blacklisting these ones for the future😂

I had an antibiotic with an ingredient added to make it kinder to your stomach. That ingredient really didn't agree with me at all, within a minute or two of taking it I'd get a wave of nausea and then I couldn't move, or read as it made me very sick. No D though.

The gp took me off them and has made a note that I'm 'allergic' to them so I won't be prescribed them again.

I had amoxicillin once and it was unbelievable. No nausea but... Least said the better.
