Mid life Career change ideas please!

I'm currently a part time science teacher.
I'm also in my 40s and have primary aged children.
I have a 2.1 in chemistry from 20 odd years ago.
Prior to that I had a levels in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry - all at A/B.
I have no problems with going back to university but it would have to earn well quickly afterwards to justify the expense especially given my age...

Any ideas?

Bump for anyone who would like to help me out of teaching?
I'm pretty good at getting to the heart of problems, and explaining them concisely.
I used to be good at programming back in the early days of C + but it was so long ago I've forgotten it all.
I'm crap at the slippery ladder politics needed to climb the management ladder.
Anyone got any ideas?
