Toddler naps

My 19 month old baby boy doesn't want an afternoon nap. He sleeps 7am to 7pm and doesn't get overtired. Is it essential he has to have a nap ?

Listen to your baby boy, he will sleep if he wants to. It’s great he’s in a 7-7 routine, some drop naps earlier than others and it may just be a phase. My twin nieces go through phases of having afternoon naps and then not, they’re coming up to 2 and have been like this since similar age to your son.

That's good to hear, feel some much pressure that he isn't getting an afternoon nap. But is not really showing any signs he's missing it and goes to sleep lovely. Like you said maybe a little phase

My DS stopped napping for a while. He is a good sleeper through the night so I was never too worried. He sometimes sleeps after nursery, but never for long. It's certainly not essential. My friend's son sleeps for three hours every day, without fail! Wouldn't say it's anything to worry about.
