Hi, can you all please set my mind at ease. I've just been to the doctor with a small mark and lump I found.

She seemed convinced that it's a sebaceous cyst but is sending me for further investigation.

I've come home in a mild panic, please tell me to cop on ...

Only one in twenty women walk away from the breast clinic with a cancer diagnosis. It's good that your GP is unconcerned and it's good that you have been referred just in case. I know it's worrying. I'm not going to tell you to stop worrying because my own experience of waiting to attend the breast clinic was a blur of worrying and googling. x

Thank you so much for your reply, must give my myself a good talking too, and remind myself that there is no benefit in worrying..

If you can muscle your way through the next few weeks with that frame of mind it will be for the best but there are plenty of places for help if you need it. The general health board here is really good if you need more info or support. I spoke to the cancer research UK helpline because I had some specific questions in advance and the nurses there were brilliant.

Just an update, I went for a mammogram and ultrasound yesterday. Consultant found nothing where the cyst may have been, but found a small (5mm) lump, non palpable with smooth edges on my other breast, they took a biopsy just to make sure. She couldn't feel the lump with her hand and said taking a biopsy was standard, can't help freaking out, need to wait a week for results...
