Just spotted myself on Streetview

NC, obviously.

Was looking on Streetview to see how a street in my city has changed over the years and they've updated it with new images, and there I am. You can follow me pootling out of Tesco then quizzically looking at the Google man. I remember the day distinctly, it was around Easter and the Google man with that camera helmet thingy walked past me - I thought 'I'd better not end up on streetview'. Then forgot all about it until this morning.

Anyone else been 'got'? Don't know why but me and DD are pissing ourselves easily pleased 😂

Damn.. this happened to me but I can't remember where Sad

SassenachWitch · 03/01/2020 17:29

This is brilliant 😂

I’ve just found myself outside work, on the phone, smoking.

Off topic but, @BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs that's a fantastic name!!

bettybattenburg · 03/01/2020 19:28

My late father is standing on the balcony of our old house looking at the view, that's just how I like to remember him SadSmile

Morgenrot · 03/01/2020 19:50

I used to be on it, walking down our street, until recently. We have had our house blurred out on there now.

AdoptedBumpkin · 03/01/2020 20:12

A car once drove past me on holiday but never bothered to check whether I made it on. They've probably updated it by now.

StudentHelp · 03/01/2020 20:16

I know that street, OP! (I mean, I think many would recognise it)

Northernsoullover · 03/01/2020 20:19

My dad was on it at his window with a cup of tea in his hand. Its been updated now though Sad

Roxingaroundtheworld · 03/01/2020 20:22

I used to, I was very sad when they updated it

DowntonCrabby · 03/01/2020 20:26

Our hot ex postie in his summer shorts features on our street.

WishThisWasGin · 03/01/2020 20:44

Theres a picture of My twins being taken to school....clearly late as there are no other kids in the picture!

Katinski · 03/01/2020 20:57

Years ago our v.fat cat got busted by Streetview. We'd hung a 'do not feed' note on his collar but there he was, having his second breakfast at a house in the next streetGrin

gummywitch · 03/01/2020 21:25

Haha Katinski that is funny! He sounds great cat -wonder if he had any other secret feeding haunts! DH, the 6 DCs, the eldest DD's boyfriend and me were all captured on a family holiday 4 years ago walking around Ventnor, Isle of wight. All on the same day i think. Didn't realise for a year. I'd gone on streetview for a virtual wander and there we were. Me and the girls walking back from the park, DH and the boys in the high street and DD's boyf sitting on the ground outside Boots looking bored (she was inside buyin makeup i think) Was so lovely seeing that day captured. Got really upset last week when I found the images are gone now.

FuckinellItsMe · 04/01/2020 07:48

Google must be updating regularly - DD has just looked at our house (previously not updated since 2012) and I can clearly be seen in the kitchen in my dressing gown, with a towel on my head. I will not be posting these images, however 😂

I feel personally victimised by Google Streetview!

@gummywitch as PPs have said, they're still there and they never go away! On a computer you can flick back through the years on any given spot. It's fascinating actually, to see how things change and how quickly - parts of my city are virtually unrecognisable to what they were 12 years ago when the first images were taken.

I know exactly where that is too OP. Also known as “The Clock”, not that I’ve ever been in I hasten to add Grin

CaptainRoss · 04/01/2020 09:05

I’m sure there’s a way of contacting Google & asking for your house to be removed/obscured ...

QuillBill · 04/01/2020 09:17

I'll meet you under the Clock.

FuckinellItsMe · 04/01/2020 09:19

@CaptainRoss I live in a block of flats so I doubt that'd be possible!

One day I hope to go to the Clock, as I've never been either. I'm thinking a refined, romantic evening with DH. Fingers crossed! Grin

Just looked at my street and admired my very shiny car ( it’s not looking like that now -at all )

BestIsWest · 04/01/2020 09:33

DS and I were on there a good few years ago when I was walking him to school. He’s almost 22 now. Like others I wish I’d screenshotted it although it was a rear view so perhaps best that I didn’t.

CaptainRoss · 04/01/2020 09:35

@FuckinellItsMe you might be surprised, I hear the inside is much better than the outside!
The people usually stood around outside smoking & spitting always put me off.
I have been in The Garter though! Grin

CrimsonCattery · 04/01/2020 15:16

My uncle is on the aerial GoogleMaps sunbathing on his trampoline in his budgie smugglers Grin

Morgenrot · 05/01/2020 08:15

@CaptainRoss there is. It is easy. We have had our house blurred out on there.
